So, I’m studying ‘English Language and Culture’ and in our middle English literature course our professor casually told us in the first lecture about the kind of poetry they had as well. Very explicit poetry, as in, some poems were called “julia’s nipples’ literally just about her nipples, and other poems were about ‘how women can also like to be fucked hard and how they should be fucked good and proper, otherwise they’ll get bored as well’. While obviously keeping in mind that this was like, very long ago and such, with different standards, I think it is funny that they can write poetry about that and have it be published and even become very popular, but now here even bloody nipples, statues, paintings, and whatever else are not okay anymore
