Thank-You!
Thank you everyone who made Cor Week a success! That’s everybody who contributed by making art, writing fantastic stories, and of course, reading and sharing them all!
A very special thank you to @zelamorre who did behind the scenes work and making sure everything ran smoothly (especially with me starting a new job this week and my computer wifi dying)
I’ll do some info gathering and randomly pull some names and announce the winners of the small participation giveaway within the next few days :)

For that drabble prompt list - #4 cornyx? (since you've singlehandedly converted me into a cornyx shipper!)
Thank you so much for your patience! I had a lot of fun with this prompt, and I am heckin delighted to be the one to drag you into this beautiful mess. Have some soft soft cornyx, conveniently dropped on free day of @corleonisweek! <3like a little tree reachesrating: twords: ~1500read it on ao3
“You’re in pain.” Six months into this — this thing they’ve become, six months of lingering looks in the Citadel’s halls that Cor chooses to recognize, six months of stumbling over the surge of gratitude that comes when their schedules align and they can steal a few hours for themselves to be spent in little corner cafes and the grungy comfort of Nyx’s cramped, crumbling apartment. Six months in, and Cor is finally allowing himself to read Nyx’s body without instinctively attempting to smother the urge on principle.
Nyx pauses on his way back from the kitchenette, beer bottle dangling carelessly from his fingertips, a rueful edge to the smile he turns on Cor. It still manages to light up his face in ways Cor can hardly fathom. “Training day — the captain wanted a piece of me.”
“Looks like he got one,” Cor says.

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Rating: T+ for character death Characters: Cor centric, appearances by Libertus, Iris, Aranea, Cindy, Cid; Regis and Clarus and the Chocobros in spirit Wordcount: ~3,000
Summary: Cor never expected to see the Dawn. Cor never wanted to see the Dawn. Now he has to figure out what he’s going to do, with no war to fight and no King to serve.
Warnings: This is ultimately a story of healing, but there are dark themes of grief and mourning and survivor’s guilt explored, so be warned.
Written for the free day @corleonisweek. This idea has been bouncing around in my head for about a year, so I decided to finally get it down.
Cor’s Family
No warning applies, family feels, fluff, same au as day 4 prompt (Ignis and Prompto are adopted by Cor)
Summary: Cor was looking forward to spending the night with his sons. Prompto and Ignis had insisted on doing something special for his 45th birthday on top of the planned party that weekend. Cor couldn’t wait to see what they had planned.

Cor Week Day 7
Day 7: Cake | Cor doesn’t celebrate his birthday | Cor gets thrown a surprise birthday party (Happy Birthday, Cor!)
It was a strange morning. For whatever reason Cor’s body was plagued with a dragging lethargy, despite getting plenty of sleep– more, in fact, than he’d grown accustomed to. Maybe that was the issue…
Maybe that also explained the quiet, but insistent nagging in the back of his mind that he was forgetting something.

Cakes And Other Such Shenanigans
Happy birthday, Cor! Here’s my entry for @corleonisweek .
I realized I was late in the train already, but I’m hoping to catch up. The marshal has a spot inside my little heart – he’s dignified and yet he’s so…vulnerable too. Anyways, let’s greet Cor on his special day, even if he doesn’t really celebrate…or does he?
The window facing the Citadel gates glowed a warm hue, flickering little lights illuminated the walls within. Cor trudged along as he listened to the sound of his boots crunching gravel and cement, a deep sigh escaping his chapped lips.
Here we go.
The people from the Citadel, his friends, weren’t much for keeping secrets. In fact, they were rather bad at it.
He knew what those flickering lights meant — they are going to throw him a surprise birthday dinner. And he knew exactly whose idea it was.

Watchers of Eternal Night
No warning applies, hurt/comfort, WOR, Cor doesn’t realize some things until its staring him in the face.
Summary: Cor failed to protect his friends. He failed to protect his new King (for the third time!) He would not fail to protect the children he watched grow and blossom over the years. No matter the cost.

FANFIC - Down Along the Creek
Fandom: Final Fantasy XV
Pairing: Gladiolus Amicitia/Cor Leonis
Summary: Gladio and Cor find relief from a summer heatwave in the cool waters of a lake.
Rating: Explicit
Notes: Written for day five of @corleonisweek, for the prompt of ‘light in the darkness.’ A collaboration with the ever wonderful @thelegendarynoctgar.
Cor wakes up in the dead of night, hot, sweaty and offensively uncomfortable. Whether it’s the relentless heat wave that’s been plaguing them for the past three days, the bright glow from the full moon, eerily large and luminous, drowning the room through the open curtain, or the emptiness right next to him where Gladio had fallen asleep a few hours ago, Cor isn’t quite certain what pulled him from his sleep, but he does know laying any longer in the sweat-dampened sheets desperately clinging to his body isn’t an option. He kicks them as far as he can and makes his way to the kitchen, in search of a tall glass of cold water and, hopefully, Gladio.
It has been some time since he’s awakened to an empty bed this way, and the fact that Gladio’s absence doesn’t fill him with an overwhelming sense of dread anymore comes as a relief. Those days are over, he needs to remind himself every once in a while. They’d been through hell for the first ten years of their shared life, then through a very different, much more visceral and cruel kind of nightmare for the following two, two years during which Cor had been made to watch as Gladio slowly slipped through his fingers, unwilling to hold on, unable to wake up. Gladio’s pain (a pain Cor understands all too well) had demanded to be felt, and Gladio had indulged it through and through.
(Cor also understands how grim, how hopeless things can seem, when standing where Gladio had stood, how impossible it feels to try and bring yourself back towards daylight when the mere thought of it is enough to make you bask in darkness until it consumes you.)
But those days are behind them now.

Cor Week Day 4
Day 4: Dad! Cor | Cor’s childhood and upbringing
It was fairly well known throughout all his various social and professional circles that Cor Leonis was an infamously, paranoidly light sleeper. Somewhat less known was how, immediately following every waking, were a brief handful of breathless moments where his spatial and temporal awareness re-calibrated itself. Disturbances were swiftly vetted as either benign or threats to be dealt with. Countless battlefields, court intrigues, terrorist threats, assassination attempts, and the things that moved in the shadows in the seedier alleys of Insomnia had been more than education enough to sleep lightly, with one eye open, and react with alert urgency when woken.
But nothing woke him like the sound of his son crying.

Homeward bound
No warning applies, fluff, family, chosen family, adoption, sweetness and caring, au.
Summary: Cor was looking forward to returning home. This wasn’t the longest mission he’d done in his career but it was the longest since he’d become a father. He wants to be back home.

Cor Week Day 5
Day 5: “Light in the darkness”
Few dared to travel the long dark alone. There were too many dangers– daemons eager to leap from every bush, tree, shadow, corner, and even the ground and air itself. Kingsglaive and Hunters went out in teams of no less than four, and civilians were strongly advised to travel in groups under the protection of such teams.
Cor was one of the few.
