I saw a clip with Ricky Gervais......he said people have got to stop saying......that's offensive. And start saying IM OFFENDED.

And IMO there is a BIG difference. I'm not offensive. People are offended by my opinion........NOT MY PROBLEM

I'm a STRIKE FANcier, not a FANatic. I don't have to act like a pre-pubescent teenager at the mention of anything STRIKE related to prove my fan credentials.

So, the whole writing notes and hiding them in a plastic rock, the "blind spot" in the fence was all so NOBODY, but Will and Lin could detect robs moving around the compound at night.🤔 And edensor could conveniently find the rock, imprints on the paper etc, so when he was FINALLY able to miraculously steal £££ from mazu, he would know where to escape from AND had a road map to the Agency. 🤔🙄🤯 Which, of course, he WOULDN'T have if the Agency had SENSIBLY used a burner phone.🤦‍♀️It's still a huuuge stretch about how he connected robs, Cormoran and the Agency, no matter "how bright" he is. And, of course, robs can't feel good about him getting out... she's got to keep wallowing in "self pity" about the suicide that is NOT their fault.

No wonder I won't be reading anymore of this series. 😕 jkr is mashing so many plots into one book, just so robs [read jkr] can be "a hero" OR victim, the books are becoming nonsense. Plus the teen romance... I knew you'd be there... [Of course, he'd be there. It's fiction; SHE'S the hero who MUST be saved]. AND it's a romantic saga, featuring 2 detectives as the leads. So, we must have the protagonists for now.

I've yet to find this compelling. The book is better described as underwhelming, with the author trying too hard. It certainly is better than 🖤, but that's not hard.

Well the time has come. As so many people have snidely commented... perhaps you should be reading something else. 🤔 I found myself writing this comment in response to someone saying... how fantastic the STRIKE books are.

Cormoran and Mrs Cunliffe can proceed without me... their faux romance takes up most of the doorstops that come out these days. I actually believe jkr always meant it to be a romantic saga [she mentioned it once in an interview] but started with the one-legged detective thing to give it "gravitas" and a wider appeal.

I'll continue to WATCH what I can see bc Tom Burke is a brilliant actor, not bc I care about the storyline. But I won't be wasting anymore time or money on a romantic saga which simply has detectives as the lead characters.

I know the ending that everyone was so excited about, that "wouldn't disappoint" etc. No, it was pretty much what I expected 😉 absolutely nothing to do with mystery or great detective work... just Mills & Boon rubbish. Pretty boring, really.🥱 So, absolutely 💯 NO RUSH to finish this underwhelming book.

Now I used to enjoy the STRIKE series. But even then, I always thought it odd when people said they had......reread the whole series in anticipation....OR.....I've read them FIVE times each. I'm retired and I don't even have TIME to do that. Then I 🤔 I'd do an experiment and reread or listen to each book. It was tedious. 🙄 I didn't even finish TB.🤦‍♀️ I skipped passges, lost concentration while listening. 😔 How anyone can TRULY be doing those things 🤷‍♀️🤔 maybe they are a self flagellating Stan [stalker fan] like that illuminati guy in the davinci code 🤭 they prove their "truth faith" to jkr by rereading the novels. ‼️😘 Or maybe their "count" is distorted bc the first three or four are just scouting trips looking for references to Cormoran and Robin in a clinch?🤔

Credit to some jkr site I think. Flogging TRG for all it is worth. Um, yeah......this is out 🥱 can't get enthusiastic ATM. After that PoS, 🖤 I'm holding my breath, TBH. I'm HOPING for another TB 🤞🤞🤞. Stopped the other thing at ch. 97 and I'm expecting Cormoran to disappear any time. Now Robin has successfully got HER name on the door, I'm ready for jkr to turn it back into the girl-detective series I suspect she wrote in the first place. Cormoran only "walked into my head" when the studios refused the series unless a male lead was involved. 🤷‍♀️

Anyhoo, Cormoran is popular. He may survive. Once there are some reviews, I'll see if my limited resources can stretch to purchasing a copy.

It's times like these [pre book or TV show release] I do not miss "normal" STRIKE groups which, ATM will be full of people behaving like fools over a fictional BOOK 🤦‍♀️🥱 [a TRUE 1st world problem. 🤮😢]

First...I'm a FANcier of the books who APPRECIATES the series. I am not and never will be a Stan: a stalker fan who is obsessive and loses the ability to think independently. Which is why I have been banned from so many Stan groups. Yesterday I posted a legitimate, polite review and said I would try TRG. I was told to p*** o** and talk s*** elsewhere. 🙄 As I say 🤦‍♀️

Anyhoo...I caught up with jkr publicity and a recap of 🖤. TG, bc I didn't bother reading past Ch.97 and I never will. I've never had to bother doing a recap before. The most interesting thing I've noticed is that the agency is now STRIKE and Ellacott agency. Even before 🖤, I've had a strong suspicion that Cormoran is being edged out of his own agency, by the creator.

I've been researching jkr: she lied about how she wrote HP. Like oprah winfraud, she spun an "aww narrative", that helped book sales. IMO, the REAL story is even better, but 🤷‍♀️. Again, only IMO, jkr DID have TEN books.....about a girl-detective. The studios said...NOT without a MAN. And "Cormoran walked into my head." [THAT part IS true.] Since then, we've had TEN years of stop/start. Books and series together then years of nothing. 🤬 We are getting TRG, news of 🖤 filming early in 2024. Maybe filming 2 series at a time? All sorts of CHATTER.

I've been silently waiting for the Ellacott name to appear on the door. I know there is every chance jkr will be forced to keep Cormoran past Book 10, whether she wants to or not. But IMO, STRIKE 1-10 was ORIGINALLY a girl detective series which was an homage to jkr, herself. When jkr was forced to include a man, she made him a male with low sexual morals. [she DID write A CASUAL VACANCY 🙄].

I'm letting you all know bc I've only just discovered the agency name change. Which brings everything forward. I believe Cormoran's character is strong enough to ensure his place, but to remain brutally honest, I have to tell you, this is where I start to worry about Cormoran's future.

TRG is out in a week. I notice the comments want....C and R to resolve their relationship....and Cormoran to find his half brother.......stitch. I'm wondering what EXCITING NEW CRIME might be revealed in a DETECTIVE novel. How odd....a CRIME ...in a detective novel⁉️ how weird am I? It seems all the other stans are after relationship news. This fan is after a detective book. There is a difference, jkr.

Came across a piccie with typical Strike FANDOM comment. My question is; when did we get to soul mates? The FANDOM is pushing the romance side of this franchise, on behalf of jkr, as hard as they can, while she keeps her hands clean. Even the dummies have worked out, C&R have a very sound friendship. But, lets face it, all R wants to do is snag a man [preferably C] but ANY man will suffice. And C does not want to get married, but the FANDOM insist the series is littered with hints they are "soul mates" 🤣🤮🤦‍♀️I'm truly not sure which emotion this statement elicits more TBH. Do they even KNOW what true soul mates are? I doubt it. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ But THIS is the FANDOM attitude to the books and if you don't submit to that, which I won't, you are ostracised. Your opinion on any and all other aspects of the series is completely discounted bc you don't agree on this point. O.M.G. SMH 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤮

jkr quite clearly says she wrote ch. 10 of HP in that Cafe. So how did her jerk of an ex use the FINISHED manuscript as a WEAPON to force her to stay with him? Or is the Standard lying?

Everything is open to interpretation and opinion, as I've been trying to say for many YEARS. I've been banned from many STRIKE groups bc I dared voice this opinion. And others that are now starting to be voiced. I don't really care anymore, given all the lies surrounding jkr and this franchise. It is forever sullied. But it is interesting that the last books might suddenly appear. And after ten years of having these "ten books in her head," we might finally get the real love story of the girl detective finished. 🤦‍♀️

So jkr built the HP writing myth as.....in a Cafe as a single mum...when she actually had the manuscript FINISHED when she was married to her first husband.

As oprah winfraud says; why tell the truth when lies sell more copy.....or words to that effect.

So why not create a STRIKE writing myth?......he just walked into my head one day...when she ACTUALLY had a girl detective series finished but the studios didn't like it without a MALE lead.

IMO, she is now adapting the TEN book series she had written and ready to go when the producers/studios told her to add a male. Then, the MALE became the favourite. 🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♀️Yeah, it's possible there ARE only TEN STRIKE books then R can mourn his death from something and go ahead in the original girl detective series. The myth of Cormoran "walking into my head." was born. It was brilliant actually. 👏👏👏But we soaked it up. It sounded great. And her new fandom was born. She is a genius. Goebbels would have been proud of her.

I never paid jkr much attention until STRIKE. Then I still paid little notice. When the gender benders laid into her and tried to create controversy simply bc she stated a considered opinion, I defended her right to free speech and still do. However given the lies I have uncovered in her attempts to sell herself and her work, I cannot support this bald faced liar anymore. I will not cut off my nose to spite my face but I will ensure as little of my hard earned money as possible gets into the pocket of jkr.

A couple more thoughts about the STUPIDITY of the C&R relationship. I think they are BFFs and care for each other, but let's look at this this through an "irl" prism.

*throughout the 6 books Cormoran is an unabashed hussey. For some reason jkr has him screwing anything that moves.....even though 🤔 he has to "heal" before he can settle into a relationship. Oh PULEEZE ‼️It's simply a ploy to drag out why she CANNOT put the love birds SHE created together,

*it gives her PAGES of each of them driving themselves mad about what the other's lovelife might be like,

*what EXACTLY is Cormoran healing from? I know healing takes time, but it has been a few years. He left the army and his leg. jkr keeps bringing berserko back.....just leave her OUT, he would heal a lot faster if jkr stopped writing her back into the books,

*for all Robin's "strength and feminism", I'm finding Robin is becoming less likeable. She seems to be trying to take over the agency, instead of learning. Or even jeopardising it. And her constant NEED to be in a relationship with a man is downright disturbing and antithetical to the character she is supposed to be. 🤷‍♀️ IF she is supposed to be the woman she is described as, why is she not sitting down with Cormoran and having a serious discussion about their relationship?

IMO, this is what she should be doing, instead of mooning around the office, silently wondering......for damn YEARS longer than anyone else ever would. The "mystery" part of the story MIGHT hold together but the "romance" is not only illogical, it's an insult to one's intelligence. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Ten years of books and these people are no closer to sorting themselves out, but I don't think jkr intends to "sort it out."

For someone who had "ten books" in her head when she was doing all the early publicity, jkr is taking her time delivering the books of the STRKE series. When things slowed after COE, I thought.....OK she's writing carefully. Doing really nice, boutique noire detective stories. Since the first 3 [in 18 months] it's taken another 102 months to get another FOUR books. [About one every 2 years.] And they have NOT measured up to the first 3, except for TB. The bits of mystery we get are passable, but the books have become weighed down with relationship tripe. Sorting out past ones, setting up new ones. I bought the books to read mysteries, not delve into relationships. Having "Robin there from the start" does NOT automatically signal romance. FYI everyone, men and women CAN be PLATONIC BFFs 🤦‍♀️. I might buy TRG, if it gets really good reviews. But I've become extremely disappointed in this FRANCHISE. I got into it bc I thought it was going to be different from the formulaic James Patterson, David Baldacci etc that I'd gotten so bored with. But it seems jkr is quite content to be formulaic: whatever makes the cash register sing. 🤔 She's just slightly different in the formula: more of will they/won't they? Let's travel back to Cormoran's childhood stomping ground; see what we can dredge up there. I'm almost waiting for it to be reclassified as "young adult", some of the themes are becoming so laughable.

So, is JKR going to stick to TEN only STRIKE books, or will the temptation to make more money from this FRANCHISE be too much? The tiny mystery plots are OK, but the romance sections are getting sooo big. Will Robin take over before the series ends? Getting boring.

Hey EVERYONE. I found I could get the TB DVD from DVD LAND in Australia. So the DVD is finally available.....about 6 months after the show aired. They took their time, but it is finally here. There is one thing about this FRANCHISE: you learn patience.

Filming of that monstrosity THE INK BLACK HEART is due to start in the first quarter 2024. That is, actors, writer's strike not affecting the production, of course. Well, at least we know Tom should be kept in the role of Cormoran. How much they butcher his part to highlight Robin instead remains to be seen. No doubt it will be another slick production, with release late next year? It would be nice to get the TB DVD ‼️‼️‼️
