My pet peeves are either really specific or just plain, no inbetween. Example:
I can’t, and when I say this I mean it with all my heart, I cannot STAND when I’m playing a video game or watching a movie and someone says “I’m gonna kill you to death”… how do you kill someone to life???? It just doesn’t make sense, just say “im gonna kill you!”. You can’t kill someone to life! And maybe I’m just being a smart butt saying that, but I think too much on things and specifically sentences that don’t make sense kill me ‘to death’. It’s so stupid I hate it I hate it I hate it. You aren’t gonna kill me, your grammar will! Your words! They hurt me! (This is obviously excluding people whose first language isn’t English, young children, or people with learning disabilities and along the lines of that) Other than that, I can’t stand it, you know English, you speak it every single day but that specific sentence you just say, I get nobody probably says it in real life. But still! Writers, please don’t make your characters say this, I will implode. I am the worst literature nerd out there
Another thing I hate, and this is very common to hate so don’t say “oh but Isabell! Pretty much everyone hates this!!” Or I will bomb you, I hate when people say ‘I hate this’ or ‘I don’t like this’ or ‘this isn’t canon!’ On a TikTok post, either it’s an edit (the first and second apply to the edit part), art, or headcannons (the third applies to this) like brother, nobody asked you. You aren’t a movie critic, a book critic, or any type of critic. If you were you wouldn’t be on your phone all the time commenting on fandom posts saying you don’t like it. Get the fact that nobody asked, all you’re doing is just annoying people, and you aren’t really doing anything with your life other than hating. I just don’t get it, nobody asked you to state your opinion on a video, if you don’t like it, take your fat 200 lb finger and scroll off.
