High summer in the Netherlands.
My little one from now on you’ll be safe with me and I will protect you to the best of my abilities from time to time I will spoil you to show you how much I love you and sometimes I will give you assignments and tasks for you to perform and in this you must obey because it will show you how much I care for you but most of all I will give you guidance so you’ll never feel alone and you’ll always know your way home.

at the tender age of 23 i received the Nobel Prize for daydreaming and everyone applauded a standing ovation and then i woke up standing in the kitchen in my underwear in front of an open refrigerator with one hand on the door and the other loosely in my side as if i was just looking for some midnight snack i looked down at my body in the pale refrigerator light didn’t remember how I got here must have been sleepwalking again didn’t even know for how long i was standing there but my body felt intensely cold
At the tender age of 12 I received the Nobel Prize For being strange And everyone gasped And everyone clapped And I stood up In the schoolyard as they ran away It was not their clapping They know not what they say At 12 I became the saddest child I have ever known I wrote poems I cried at night so quietly And learnt every day How yet to love a world that hates We are made the way we need to be to know what we will know And what it means to love And what it means to be human And to be broken Is to allow something exquisite break out of us Strange girl You must be yourself Even when you don’t want you to be Clap for yourself Even if you are the only one clapping And when all you have left is heart Then love Especially then Especially when you are the only one loving You will find a way to reflect off all your edges A light to them through this darkness And all they need to know is how
it’s in the way she looks at me that I learn to see how deep her love can be how she needs to be broken and put back together again by one and the same man who not only learned to see the true depth of her love but also understands the dark secrets of her heart
