I recently escaped a highly abusive situation. I was emotionally and financially manipulated in addition to being repeatedly physically and sexually assaulted.
However, I am struggling.
I am successfully paying rent, but I am lacking a few necessities, and I need help with two major purchases:
The first is a moving truck. I left suddenly, and with only my pets and what I could shove into a few bags. Everything else is still in my abuser’s possession. To have my possessions moved from my abuser’s house to my current residence will run about $2,500 based off of several quotes I acquired from moving companies- this means that I would not have to return there myself, but that the movers will collect my boxes and deliver them to my current residence. I do not have much, but the drive is from Illinois to Georgia. My abuser has, thankfully, agreed to comply with this- the catch being that I MUST have it set up within the next month or my abuser will PERSONALLY drive everything down and stay with me for a full week [Uninvited. I have no intention of letting my abuser in after I unload everything… but that may not be permitted until the last possible day my abuser can stretch it to before returning to Illinois due to work.]
The second is a chicken coop. Yes, I brought my chickens in addition to my two dogs. I was not going to leave them with some… person who let their adult cat starve down to three pounds in addition to not seeking vet care for three MONTHS of blood in the urine and lack of bladder control. The poor lil sods are currently in an exercise pen for dogs up on the porch so nothing can eat them. I need to build them a coop- the full deal will run about $500. Yes, I had one for them up in Illinois. No, it is not going to be possible to move it down here. Yes, it will be much cheaper to build it from scratch.
TLDR I need roughly $3,000 to get my stuff back from my abuser and cover a large expense for my chickens.
