L Lawliet Ă— Misa Amane; Headcanons !!
1.
L secretly hates classical music—he’s much more of
a pop and rock guy. He actually goes to concerts
pretty often, especially the ones Misa performs at.
He owns an embarrassing amount of Misa-Misa
merch, too. After every show, he immediately calls
her just to gush about how incredible herÂ
performance was.
2.
One time, Misa tried to use the same washing
machine L uses to clean himself, and she nearly
drowned in it. Watari had to pull her out while she
sputtered and yelled about how awful that thing is.
L just sat there giggling like it was the funniest
thing he’d ever seen.
3.
Once, L started trying on some of Misa’s wigs just
to amuse himself. When he picked a sleekÂ
black .one with bangs, he struck a pose and actually Â
tried flirting with her as a girl. Misa burst out
laughing. L took that as encouragement, pounced
on her, and the two of them ended up play-fighting
on the floor—until they “accidentally” kissed.
4.
When L is buried in his cases, Misa keeps busy too.
She isn’t glued to his side, but she always checks in
calls him, talks to him for a moment before
heading over to his hotel suite. It’s her way of
staying connected without getting in the way of his
work.
5.
When Misa has a day off, she often goes to a small
American-Chinese spot she’s known for years. She
always grabs orange chicken for L and rice and
noodles for herself. They sit together by the
window, quietly enjoying their meal. L only really
likes the orange chicken because it’s sweet, and he
usually gives Misa his rice and noodles. She also
orders sweet tea, which he has a soft spot for.
6.
Both L and Misa are big cat lovers, especially black
cats. For her birthday, Misa received a black cat
from Naomi Misora. That night, L and Misa stayed
up together, tossing around cute name ideas. In the
end, they settled on “Lisa”—a little mix of their
own names.
7.
They share a mutual playlist filled with songs they
both love, like:
Yurie Kokubu – “I Wanna Be With You”
Anri – “I Can’t Stop the Loneliness”
Fleetwood Mac – “Everywhere”
Genesis – “Invisible Touch”
Fine Young Cannibals – “She Drives Me Crazy”
Chicago – “I Don’t Wanna Live Without Your Touch”
Daryl Hall & John Oates – “Out of Touch”
The Carpenters – “Close to You”
Bruno Mars – “It Will Rain”
Haddaway – “What Is Love?”
…and a bunch more.
8.
L taught himself Capoeira and even showed Misa
some moves. They often practice together, and it’s
playful and chaotic—Misa nearly sent him toppling
straight onto his ass more than once.
9.
Misa always orders a giant sundae and calls L to
come meet her at the café so they can share it. She
can’t eat that much ice cream herself, but she
knows her detective boyfriend has no trouble
finishing it—and she loves watching him enjoy it.
10.
Sometimes Misa dresses L in Gothic-style outfits
similar to what she wears. She’s careful to pick
pieces that are comfortable and breathable, so he
doesn’t feel restricted. L occasionally humors her,
but he still prefers his classic jeans and white
long-sleeve shirt.
11.
Misa sometimes wears short dresses or “sexy”
nightgowns to bed, teasing and flirting with L
while she does. It’s her playful way of keeping
him on his toes, and he secretly enjoys the
attention.
12.
Misa’s favorite fruits are strawberries, apples,
watermelon, and cherries, while L enjoys all
fruits but has a soft spot for strawberries. So
whenever they go to a bakery together, they
usually pick pastries with strawberries.
13.
Sometimes Misa looks after Maki Nikaido, back
before (L “changed the world.”) One day, they all
went to the mall, and Misa made L pay for both
her and Maki’s things. Half-jokingly, L said that
Maki could be their daughter someday, which
made Misa just laughed her ass off. Maki, however,
just stared at them like they were completely crazy.
14.
Misa loves baking and making treats for L—ice
cream, cakes, pastries, even arranging fruit in fun,
creative ways. She’s happiest sharing these quiet,
comfortable moments with him, and L deeply
appreciates her efforts. Each little gesture makes
him fall even more for her.
15.
Does Watari approve of their relationship? At first,
L thought he’d end up with another detective—or
not date at all. It wasn’t really Watari’s business,
but over time, he came to trust Misa and even
favors her. He occasionally shares little stories
about L from his childhood at Wammy’s House,
which Misa secretly treasures.
16.
Sometimes, L and Misa would skip their work
entirely just to spend the day together at the
aquarium. They’d wander slowly among the
tanks, mesmerized by the colorful fish. Misa
loved watching L get quietly excited about
the little details, and she found it incredibly
romantic when he would point out two fish
swimming side by side. “Look,” he’d say softly,
“it’s us.” Those quiet, intimate moments, just the
two of them, surrounded by the gentle swirl of
water and light were the ones she cherished
most.
17.
If L ever retired, it would be for one reason:
marrying Misa. In this world, their wedding
would take place in the fall of 2007, near L’s
birthday, in Los Angeles. Misa would wear a
custom Gothic Lolita wedding dress, carefully
designed by a close friend of hers at her request.
while L would match her with a comfortable yet
Gothic-inspired outfit of his own. The ceremony
would be small and intimate, with only a few
guests—the Task Force, Naomi, Raye, and perhaps
Light; witnessing their union. For them, it
wouldn’t be about grandeur; it would be about
celebrating their love for one another.
18.
For their honeymoon, L and Misa traveled to
several places that held special meaning for them.
They first visited Winchester, where L had spent
part of his childhood, exploring quiet streets and
reminiscing together. Then they went to Hawaii,
soaking up the sun on pristine beaches and
wandering through local museums. Their next stop
was Okinawa, where they enjoyed more beach days
and small, local concerts. To finish their trip, they
returned to California for a few days of amusement
parks, riding roller coasters and sharing cotton
candy, laughing like they were carefree teenagers.
19.
Every once in a while, they’d go wine tasting
together. L preferred fruity wines, while Misa
gravitated toward the more bitter ones, often
pairing them with cheese and grapes. She would
occasionally exclaim something like, “Wow, this is
so European!” in her usual well-meaning way,
which made L chuckle quietly beside her. These
little outings were their version of grown-up fun,
a way to enjoy simple pleasures together.
20.
If L and Misa were to have children, they would
likely adopt from Wammy’s House. Biologically,
they’d be shy about public attention—Misa
especially didn’t want to be in the spotlight. During
pregnancy, she would stay close to L and announce
a hiatus from work, eating light meals while Watari
kept a watchful eye. If they decided to have a baby
shower, Naomi would take full charge of the
planning, with Raye and Watari helping to create a
warm, intimate event for close friends. Everything
would be meticulously organized, with love and
care in every detail.
During the baby shower, Misa would sit at the
center of the table while Watari greeted guests.
The Task Force, including Ide, would be invited,
along with some of her closer model friends, her
older sister, a few Wammy House kids, and family
like Sayu, Light, and Sachiko carrying multiple
gifts. L would shyly stay near Misa, while younger
kids, like Linda, Mello, and Matt, would cling to
him and playfully bother him, creating a lively,
But chaotic atmosphere.
The party was a joyous, energetic affair. Misa received plenty of gifts for herself and her baby and indulged in a fair amount of candy. Naomi quietly acted as a bodyguard, ensuring things ran smoothly, while Raye looked after everyone and helped serve food.
21.
During Christmas time, L and Misa love taking
strolls together to admire the city lights and
festive decorations. They always bring hot
chocolate: Misa prefers hers with peppermint
and whipped cream, while L adds actual
chocolate pieces and enjoys marshmallows
on top. Both of them love sipping through
candy cane straws, sharing quiet, cozy moments
as they wander through the sparkling streets.
22.
If Misa were pregnant, L would stay up late at
night while she slept, talking softly to their baby.
He would share details about his day—what he
ate, the cases he worked on, and countless little
observations; always ending with heartfelt
reminders of how much he loves their child.
These quiet, tender moments would be his way
of bonding, even in the stillness of the night,
showing his unwavering devotion to Misa and
The baby.
23.
L taught Misa Chinese and helped her improve
her English, patiently going over vocabulary and
phrases with her. Sometimes, when they’re joking
around, she’ll grin and tell him, “You met me at a
very Chinese time in my life,” which always makes
them both giggle.
24.
They end up living in several places throughout
their life together. In Japan, they have a peaceful
home in Kyoto. In England, they maintain a house
tied to L’s roots. In Los Angeles, they share a
modern apartment that feels like their getaway
spot. And in Germany, they own a cozy house
where they retreat when they want something
quieter and removed from the public eye. Their
life is spread across different countries, but every
place feels like home because they’re together.
