i recently re-watched Death-Note and i felt the need to draw my gorgeous queen Naomi Misora.
I NEED TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST IM SORRY okay so Death Note is a HUUUUGE SpIn of mine and has been since i was 13 (i pick it up and put it down per the rules of my Special Interest Roulette Wheel that spins involuntarily) but i need to talk about Naomi Misora.
I Fucking HATE and i mean HATE that she was noted to be one of the BEST FBI AGENTS who was RECOGNIZED BY L (y'know, worlds greatest detective) and she literally worked WITH HIM as his eyes during the Los Angeles BB Murders Case (ofc i read the book i really was into death note i mean it) but for some GOD AWFUL REASON,,,, for some stupid fucking reason,,, SHE had to quit her job with FBI to stay with Raye and NOT Raye?!?!
like i will be real, the reason was probably plain and simple. shes a woman and would have gotten paid less and would be less likely to have gotten raises regardless of being recognized by L bc Thats Just How America Is (Tsugumi Ohba does like to put 'subtle' criticisms of America in death note, if you pay attention) but OH MY GOD Raye just was not smart like Naomi. and he refused to listen to her. ill be real i did not like Raye that much.
if Naomi were the one following Light instead of Raye i think Light would have been caught. which would have cut the story short, yes. i love death note and i find the story really good and well written. but oooohhh myyyy GOD i wish Naomi wouldve got his ass. Light found her through a series of coincidences. he wasnt caught during that whole thing due to COINCIDENCE. im so MAD.
but anyways i still love the series. when i rewatch/reread it i cannot look at the Naomi scene where her and Light interact and then she dies bc i just sit there like NAOMI NOOOO NOOO DONT FALL FOR IT NOOOO
