The thing about being an artist is that there will always be someone better than you. It's just a fact of life. There will be people out there who's art seems so unobtainable that you can't help but feel inadequate. But you keep trying. You always keep learning and improving. Just because there are other artist out there doesn't mean you just give up.
So when people say that AI is better than you, faster than you, can do so much more than you, why would you stop? You know that there was always "better" out there. Is this really where you draw the line? At some machine that can churn out slop without any feelings or soul? Even the simplest doodles, born out of boredom or simple desire hold so much more meaning than anything generated by an algorithm who doesn't know what it holds.
