I'M ON WAX!

Marshall Art's new EP "Timeline" is out on 10" Vinyl via The Yetee. It's four tracks we prepared for our 2016 MAGFest set, polished up for our first collaborative vinyl release. This includes two chiptune-reworked arrangements from my previous albums (TLoZ and Earthbound), one Chrono Trigger arrangement from their side, and a collaborative take on Megalovania from Undertale.

So I downloaded a program that lets me slow down songs by extreme amounts without distorting them or changing the pitch, and I have to say your music is absolutely magical when slowed down! Currently listening to Outset Island slowed down 500%

Hah! At what point is it no longer an arrangement and instead an experiment in drones and tape loops/degregations?

M8 you can't just post something like "HEY GUYS IM WORKING ON CHRONO TRIGGER STUFF K BYE" and then leave us hanging yo. Any word on when we're gonna hear some of that? You on To Far Away Times would be dope as shit. I need a 2015 dose of your music anyways; I still listen to Earthbound twice a week at least.

Hey, my buds from Marshall Art sent me a gift the other day. They released a collection of their covers on cassette and digital and made sweet-ass custom packaging. All the inserts and cases are uniquely painted and have variant stamps. I have one of the only 4 Undertale ones, and there are 25 (I think) cassettes total. The digital album is live now, and the tapes go on sale at noon eastern later today (July 1).

I'm actually featured on it on the track MGLV: The Easiest Enemy (a cover of Megalovania from Undertale) where I provide ambient and rhythm guitars. Mikhail goes nuts and fits like every other Undertale song in its solo. We debut it live at MAGFest this past year and it was released on that month's Dwelling of Duels competition. Because DoD is super cruel, it received... votes. I blame myself and my shoddy mixing, but nevertheless it was still a very fun track to do and it made for a very special moment at MAG.

But I'm going to remove bias and say my favorite track on here is still My Monkey Drives a Maserati--a take on Hot Pursuit from the Donkey Kong Country 3 soundtrack. That half-time drum beat, and the subsequent double-timing of it later, still kills me.

No big deal, just making my on-stage debut alongside Marshall Art at MAGFest. There will be some Marshall Art songs. There will be some chip-i-fied Cory Johnson songs. There may very well be a brand new song.

So I have some new music out today on a survivor-horror themed VGM compilation--Danse Macabre IV (they killed Viking Guitar in the last one apparently?). I did a track mixing the theme of The Last of Us and Telltale's The Walking Dead entitled "The Man and the Girl" (props to streifig from Marshall Art for the name suggestion). I also provided synths and guitars to Stemage's track, Deadflip, from the pinball game Alien Crush--which totally should have been titled "Welcome to the Pinball Machine.”

So, this dropped today (yesterday).

Today (yesterday) being the 20th anniversary of Chrono Trigger, a bunch of musicians got together to make a tribute album to the game. Buuuut we didn’t finish in time, so we put out a sampler album. The full thing will drop later this year. :D

But hey, this sampler is about the length of a full album anyway. And best of all, it’s FREE. You can get it at the above Bandcamp link, or by visiting chroniclesoftime.net.

Oh, I guess I should say I’m on it. Like, on the opening track. I also play electric guitars (not the acoustic guitars) on WARK!’s track.

I also have unreleased songs being held for the final album, including a 21 minute suite of some boss battle--something to do with lava I dunno I never played the game.

You also have cool cats on there like Marshall Art, Kirby’s Dream Band, Eight Bit Disaster, Mega Beardo, ect.

So GO DOWNLOAD while I play Chrono Trigger for the first time so I can learn how badly I botched the source material.
