I haven’t posted anything on Instagram after my dearest Gramps passed away. To be honest, I can barely muster up enough energy to film and edit YouTube videos - and those get priority over IG posts for me. Missing someone with whom you spoke every day of your entire life is harder than anyone said or thought. So here are my #empties from over the last couple of months. Now that acid or active based cleansers make my face super-sore (and make me hit soprano notes without much effort), I have been looking for very gentle second cleansers (I will talk about first cleansers later). Crikey, February already! How has your January been? I’m currently delivering a huge punch of hydration and B5 (soothing and calming), to my battered skin (apparently my skin and gut microbiomes were messed up from September), with the #makeprem Comfort Me Panthenol Moisture Essence (free with purchase from #yesstyle). This one is fully #oilfree, and is a rather thick essence that feels more like an emulsion. Just this (above a hydrating toner, such as Klairs), and a petrolatum moisturiser - that’s my routine for now, and I can see my skin getting back to pre-September plumpness and strength. No peeling whatsoever now. I like this more than the CosRx Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence! Back when we both bought the 2019 Skincity Advent Calendar, @abitof_skin told me she loved the Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Toner. Eh, I thought, it can’t be greater than the ones I use, and promptly gave it away. I. Was. Wrong. I got these two foil sachets with purchase (got whatever I didn’t have from #kbeauty #adventcalendars haha). FIRST use in (each sachet lasted three uses, and I’m heavy-handed!), I was SO impressed that I logged straight back in, and bought a full-sized bottle. That rarely happens. I bought the unscented version, because I remain afraid that the lavender oil in the original will break me out, as it has done in the past. This one is #oilfree. And, I continue to be impressed by this toner. The hydration is immense. It keeps my skin calm and soothed, and prepped for further steps. Will order one more on Black Friday, because not having an unopened bottle (or three) in my cabinet, for each product in my routine, gives me sleepless nights 😂 What’s your hydrating toner of choice?
