Hello! Hi! And welcome, to Cosmic Shake Productions! (also known as milkshake productions on occasion, don't ask) A new indie animation studio, run completely by teenagers!

This is @esttellthehollow17 ! The founder of this studio! Also not completely sure if that's the right word but it's fine. But more importantly, I am also the leading director of this studio's first animated series. Starshine Sentinels!

Starshine Sentinels is a show inspired by the Prettycure/Glitter Force series, Sailor Moon, and Pretty Pretty Please, I don't wanna be a Magical Girl.

And like a lot of indie series, we are looking for help. Animation might be the hardest part of making a TV show. I really wish I could help out more myself, sadly it is just mentally exhausting for me to animate on my phone, especially since I am mainly a traditional artist.

I greatly apologize if you are a young animator looking for work, because we cannot offer to pay you for working on this project. As I mentioned, we are a small group of teenagers, and this is mainly a volunteer project.

Somethings in return I CAN offer are:

-My writing skills

-My art skills

-My voice acting skills

-Promotion for personal projects

-A place to post your own shows

One more thing before I talk about this show, I am most comfortable working with people between the ages of 12-16.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.

By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.

I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

it's probably from assholes making asks a minefield of trolling/harassment for years with no real blocking ability, which turned people off from allowing asks on their blogs so as a whole the site moved away from it

but now that we do have better blocking, we should try to revive it.

Here’s a small critical tip: (Not abt the show but the currency your paying)

it’s really hard to find a lot of animators for free, bc animation takes time and frame by frame (or graph by graph) and key timing and those. So some animators won’t do it for free. But voice actors are fine,

if your looking more animators I’m sorry to get your hopes down if I did and you guys dislike this ask you don’t have to answer it. I just want to let you guys know

We are aware of this.

We know there are people who won't work for free, and that's fine by us!

We are extremely lucky that we were able to find a few people and friends to animate for us, and the only reason we're still looking for more people is because we don't want our current volunteers to get burnt out!

I think we will have to give up on looking for animators for the time being, but that just means our series will take longer to produce.

We appreciate your concern, but this was something we already knew. Thanks for the thought.

Hello there!

I am creating an indie animated series that will be posted on YouTube. It is a magical girls show called Starshine Sentinels, taking inspiration from Glitter Force/Prettycure, as well as Sailor Moon. My only problem is...

I can't animate.

I sadly can't pay, but I can offer my art, writing, and voice acting skills for any personal projects. As well as promotional material, and even the studio to post things on.

I have already recruited a few animators, but a few isn't a lot. So if you have free time, and enjoy animation (or are willing to learn) keep reading!

!!Help Wanted!!

We are currently working on a Magical Girls TV show, and we still need a few more animators!

The show will be done in a 4 frames per second animation style, with characters (not backgrounds) done in color.

I sadly can not offer to pay people, but I can offer people a chance to post their own shows or animation projects, and to help advertise these projects. As well as offering my own writing, art, and voice acting skills.

It pains me to do this, but Cosmic Shake Productions/Milkshake Productions needs animators.

We are a studio run by teens, so if you are a teen animator willing to work for free, please message me or re-blog this.

I feel really bad asking for free labor but you guys have no idea how difficult it is for me to animate on my phone as a traditional artist.

I really don't want to ask strangers to work for nothing so if you want me to promote your own personal projects I absolutely will. And if YOU have a show you want to bring to life our studio has room for more shows.
