Cosmic Drifters is an ethical slow fashion brand founded in 2014 with one clear mission- to empower the whimsical weirdos of the world to step into their power through self-expression, likeminded community, connection and belonging. We create alternative clothing in original prints in inclusive sizing to cater to as many divine, magical people as humanly possible! Shipped worldwide from distribution centres in the USA and EU.

Litha, the longest day of the year falls on June 21st and is one of the 8 sabbats in the pagan wheel of the year.

Dark botanical wide-leg pants with hand-drawn ferns, seed heads and faerie flies. Relaxed unisex fit, side pockets and soft stretch fabric.

Our pattern designer Sarah says “I think this design perfectly captures the essence of the glimmering, fleeting glances of fairies as they dance between the two realms. The delicate, feathery fern fronds were created via cyanotype printing. I have always absolutely loved the ethereal imprint of the botanical that is left behind during this process, permanently capturing a little snapshot in time, and immortalising the otherwise transitory life of a leaf. The drifting seed heads, and intricate winged insects compliment the fronds, and, for me, evoke something of a distant childhood memory, or a dream you can’t quite hold onto, perhaps one where fairies float and flutter through swirling whirlpools of fog, lost in time and space.”

This is Cosmic Drifters - the grassroots attitude, the unrelenting self-belief in the face of adversity and the unstoppable certainty that some way, somehow we could build a fashion brand that changed the lives of ourselves and everyone who shared our interests, aesthetics and values for the better. We didn’t come from money. We didn’t have rich parents or investors or anything beyond our raw hope, vision and imagination. We boot-strapped this project from nothing and birthed it into existence through steady, consistent, dedicated effort that we put into ourselves and our work over the course of a decade. We are those witches! I hope that this reflection serves as a reminder of the power of human creativity, curiosity and resilience. That even in a world as uncertain as this one you can build something real and valuable by investing in yourself and your talents day after day, year after year and carving out a space for yourself in culture - a space where you belong.
