Methods for Spells

TO BIND- wrap in black thread, drip wax over, or seal in a jar and hide it in the dark.

TO BANISH- burn an effect to ash and sweep off the back door step, cast it out a window, or bury in the ground and spit on it

TO ENCOURAGE-  plant it by the front door/steps, bury by a window, or place it on a windowsill

TO HIDE- place in a jar painted black, cover with cloth and bury, or wrap with a ribbon

TO CLEANSE- bury it in a bowl of  salt, burn herbs and pass through the smoke, or lay it in a moonwater bath

TO GLAMOUR- leave under the full moon, hold its reflection over a mirror with herbs, or 

TO WISH- place before a candle and blow it out, drown a coin in water, or let seeds blow into the wind

TO COMMUNICATE- (with a spirit or deity) - anoint a candle, leave out offerings, or open the front doors and windows

TO WARD- leave part of the spell in four corners, draw lines around the protected area, or plant an object of projection in the north, east, south, and west edges

TO CURSE- spit on it, drag your nails down it, or stick sharp things in it

TO DISCOURAGE - plant or bury by the back door, or burn to ash

TO JINX- say it three times out loud, or say a word the same time as someone else

TO MANIPULATE - use wax, use poppets, or tie several strings to pieces of an effect

TO BENEFIT - light a candle, charge a crystal, or create a talisman

Crystals for protection

These are from my own personal experience. As a general rule, black crystals are naturally very protective because they’re extremely grounding. Purple crystals are psychically protective, and white crystals purify the energy around them. But here’s a comprehensive list:

⭐️Selenite - it’s such a high-vibration crystal that it resonates with the angelic realm, and known for being incredibly protective. Plus it’s really cheap! Yay! Buy raw pieces in bulk and place them in a grid around your personal space for powerful protection.

⭐️Sugilite - emanates the Violet Ray, which is highly protective against psychic attack, curses, hexes, and general negative energy.

⭐️Charoite - VERY powerful against inter- dimensional parasites, wonderful for wearing during astral travel. Keep by your bed to ward off nasty entities that like to feed on your energy. Think of it like a purple fire burning away all negative influence. It’s really amazing stuff.

⭐️Amethyst - well-known, easy to come by, and usually pretty cheap (just find real amethyst and not fake). Psychically protective, also very soothing. When you’re afraid, you tend to attract nasty entities, and so amethyst has the dual purpose of keeping you calm and feeling safe AND protecting you against negative energy.

⭐️Black tourmaline - the old standby for protection against negative energy, curses, malicious entities, and general feelings of being overwhelmed. Also easy to come by!

⭐️Hematite - another old favorite in the metaphysical community, good for keeping you grounded on earth, which in itself is protective. Regular black hematite is protective, but rainbow hematite has the added benefit of aligning your chakra column.

⭐️Magnetite - Same as hematite, but because it’s magnetic, I like to think of it like an energy trap that sucks in all the nasty energy around it. Cleanse it more often!

⭐️Labradorite - aside from being gorgeous, this stone is specifically protective during magickal practices. It can guard against magickal attack, curses, hexes, and general bad energy.

⭐️ Regular black stones you find outdoors are grounding, ESPECIALLY ones you find deep in the dirt. I can’t tell you how powerful it is to find your own magick materials. Since it’s been soaking up all that lovely earth energy, any dark-colored stone in the dirt will have protective qualities. Take it home, wash it, cleanse it, charge it, and familiarize it with your energy. You’ll be best buds, I promise! You don’t have to spend a dime on protective stones, if you don’t want to.

Experiment with some crystals yourself and see which ones make you feel grounded and safe. Hope this helps!

spell to embody the moonlight

this is a spell that gives you the beauty, aura and energy of the moon. it aligns you with the divine feminine, brings you favour in your wishes, and makes you radiate with calm, cool lunar beauty. best done under a full moon. you will need:

☾ willow bark or leaves (strong lunar magick, wish granting)

☾ quartz (lunar energy, amplifying, cleansing, radiance)

☾ amethyst (dreams, happiness, calm, eloquence)

☾ purple candle (goddess energy, clarity, psychic power)

cast your circle in a space where you can see the full moon. light your candle and look up at the moon for a moment, meditating with her. 

hold your amethyst in your dominant hand, and your quartz in your non-dominant hand. close your eyes and focus on the feeling of each stones’ energy circulating through you like blood; feel them cycle in your spirit as the moon does in the sky.

when you feel as though you’ve been filled with the energy of your stones, set them aside and pick up a small bowl of willow, which you will offer to the moon. whisper into the bowl what you wish to gain from the moon: beauty, radiance, wisdom, tranquility, spirituality, femininity… and thank the willow for carrying this message to her.

on a windowsill, place your willow bowl so the moon can see it, and on either side place the amethyst and quartz. blow out the candle and relax for the rest of the evening until you sleep.

Gnostic Pentagram Ritual

“Banishing Rituals" as they are commonly known, serve several purposes. At the beginning and end of longer rituals they serve to establish or reestablish concentration, balance and control. They may also be used for visualization practice or for shut-ting out unwanted influences. The traditional lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram devised by Golden Dawn adepts is becoming progressively less useful as time advances. Nowadays, few people are sufficiently committed to Hebraic mysticism or kabbalistic studies to derive much power from the god names and angelic images. The persistency of the increasingly inappropriate lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram and imitative variants of it in other traditions is evidence of a continuing requirement for a ritual of this type. Thus, I present the Gnostic Pentagram Ritual. This fulfills all the aforementioned functions of a banishing ritual without being limited to any particular sectarian symbol system

The Gnostic Pentagram Ritual begins with a visualization of radiance in five areas of the body.  Each visualization is assisted by a vibration of one of the vowels sounds I, E, A, O, U.  The sounds are vibrated loudly and each is sustained for and entire slow exhalation.  Each should produce a physical sensation in the part of the body to which it is attributed.  In effect the body is being played like a musical instrument with each part resonating in sympathy to a particular tone.

Subsequently, pentagrams are drawn in the air at four points around the operator.  The pentagrams ‘are drawn and an anti-clockwise quarter turn of the whole body is executed after each pentagram thus returning the body to its original position.  The pentagrams should be strongly visualized with the eyes (opened or closed as desired).  Each should be accompanied by a loud intonation of all five vowel sounds I, E, A, O, U, in a single exhalation, with one bar of the pentagram being drawn for each sound.  The IEAOU chant is used here largely to block discursive thought.  Finally, the opening sequence in which the visualization of radiance in various areas of the body, reinforced by the individual I, E, A, O, U is repeated.  The ritual may be elaborated at will, for example, by adding colors to the visualized radiances or by adding supplementary pentagrams above and below to form a sphere around the operator.

This ritual can be used in a number of ways:

To establish balance, concentration and control before    and after more complex rituals.

As visualization practice at any time.

As a preliminary exorcism of unwanted mental or psychic phenomena.

As an aid to healing, particulary self-healing.

The techniques employed are: chanting, vibration, visualization assisted by gesture, breath control.

The ritual entails the visualization of images of radiance within specific areas of the body.  There is actually little congruence between the various oriental systems.  What all these systems are designed to do is to create psychic images of various parts of the body to facilitate greater psychosomatic control.  The Gnostic Pentagram Ritual is named in commemoration of certain magickal schools of antiquity which designated the magical force of the universe IAO:

Ritual Procedure

Stand facing any preferred direction.

Inhale fully.  Exhale slowly sustaining the sound “I” (a high-pitched   ieeeee! sound) while visualizing a radiance of energy in the head area.

Inhale fully.  Exhale slowly sustaining the sound “E” (a lower-pitched   eeeeh! sound) while visualizing a radiance of enerfy in the throat area.

Inhale fully.  Exhale slowly sustaining the sound “A” (a deep aaaah!   sound) while visualizing a radiance of energy in the heart and lungs,   which spreads to the muscles of the limbs.

As in 2, but the sound “O” (ooooh!) in the belly area.

As in 2, but the sound “U” (a very deep uuuur!) in the genital/anal   area.

Repat 6.  Then 5, 4, 3, 2, working back toward the head.

Inhale fully.  Exhale slowly, forming each of the IEAOU sounds in turn   while, with the left arm, drawing in the air a pentagram, which is also   visualized strongly.

Make a quarter turn to the left and repeat 8, then continue to turn and   draw the remaining pentagrams with mantra and visualization until   returning to the starting position.

Repeat steps 2-7 inclusive.

Her tan came out less than amazing as I didn’t know how to properly flesh air dried skins at the time, but she’s still been a perfect display piece for a few years now.
