Paws firmly crossed on pages turned gold,
She mocks my existence—so weary and old.
Scion of sphinxes on a temple of wood,
The ghost of my failure, misunderstood.
I chase after Karma in rain and in gloom,
She naps on all wisdom, ignoring my doom.
Queen of the hill, from her height she observes,
As I swallow old pasta, "Special Reserve".
