No children are allowed in the Library of Congress.
It's not that kind of library.
In other words...
You are being lied to
again
Everything published in the US is copied to the Library of Congress; appropriateness for children is not a criteria. Published under copyright is.
In order to read something in the Library of Congress, you must, in order:
1) Be 16+ years old and in possession of ID such as a driver’s license or passport to obtain a LoC card
2) Make an appointment to go to a reading room
3) Know what it is you want to read and which library building it is in so you can fill out a request form when you arrive.
So the chances of a “child” just stumbling over something “inappropriate” that was “put” there by the choice of the head librarian is 100% impossible.
Leavitt seems to believe that if she wears a big enough cross, God can’t hear her breaking the commandment against false witness.
“Losing the US edge in higher ed, means not just losing the research expertise and findings, but also the students. Trump and co. don’t care as long as it means weakening the university system. As is becoming clear, their ideological project outstrips economic considerations.. They are happy to weaken the US and relegate it to second tier status globally if they can remake the cultural and ideological landscape. I guess they don’t care about turning the US into a backwater as long as they get to be the tinhorn dictators. What continues to confound me is how many people who do not benefit from this support it. It was striking to me to hear Trump talking about kids getting fewer dolls at Christmas. If a democrat had done something similar, the right would have gone nuts. It’s like some weird Kenedy parody: “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country’s billionaires…” It’s fascinating how many Trump supporters are willing to make the sacrifices they would never countenance from a Democratic administration.”

Reminder they want to increase the budget for ICE from 3.5 to 45 billion dollars.
Reminder the majority of that will be for building new detention centers.
Reminder ICE are *currently* detaining tourists who can pay for a plane ticket home and people with visa issues that were already resolved, because they have to make quota so Trump can brag about the numbers going up.
Reminder most of these people were already in the immigration system - that's why they were easy to detain.
Reminder this is all at taxpayer expense.
Reminder these are people.
Reminder that these are people
