Yeah sure... Mike Wheeler understood her like no one else. Their last conversation is full of bullshit and we are supposed to sit here and pretend like Mileven is the greatest love story ever told.
This came in some magazine (Anthem Screen Guide) before season 5 aired but still... Bonus points to Duffer Brothers for gay representation I guess... Bare minimum like in any mainstream show.
Ok so if everything Will said in the Van meant that his and El's feelings for Mike are the same... and suddenly in season 5 those feelings turned out to be just a crush. It would mean that El's feelings for Mike were also just a crush. Duffers can't write for shit...
Dawson's Creek (the show that Duffers were fascinated with) had a GAY male lead who had multiple boyfriends and fully fledged arc within the show. Dawson's Creek aired from year 1998 to 2003. Now 23 years later we got Stranger Things. A show where a gay lead gets sidelined till the last season and afterwards gets a nameless epilogue boyfriend as a consolation prize. Great writing Duffers....

Remember that Robins gay radar is NOT perfect. In season 4 she could not tell if Vicky was interested in her. Why should we believe that she can clock mike and will relationship perfectly from one interaction.
Another Byler-Jopper parallel. One person is writing the note while the other is standing behind them observing what is written. Also both Joyce and Will ale tapping/touching the person who is writing the note.

Once you read the season 4 script which describes El's diorama as something 2nd grader would make... Implying that almost 15 years old Mike Wheeler is dating a girl with mentality of 7-8 years old child. And Milevens totally not having an issue with this...
