i have so much kotlc art that i either never finished/don’t like/got bored of that i haven’t posted and i KNOW i should post them but i can never find the energy… one day my ginormous cache of kotlc art will be released… that day is not today

big fan of that recent style of tumblr post that gets frequently interrupted and corrected via thoughts in parentheses (remembers i shouldn’t show favoritism) i mean i enjoy all tumblr posts equally (remembers i shouldn’t condone bigotry) except for the bad ones (remembers to use clear wording) as in, causing harm to real people, and not just the annoying ones (remembers i shouldn’t be mean) not that there’s anything wrong with being annoying, i actually think everyone should be as annoying as possible (realizes i’m overcompensating) no i don’t. what was i talking about again?

the amount of kotlc fans that not only fail to make the connection between the matchmaking system and eugenics but also romanticize the matchmaking system (??) is a little baffling to me… it is Quite Literally the definition of eugenics, but i see so many people water it down to something cute or silly even when it’s a huge topic in the books

YES this is exactly what i’m talking about… as if the main pairing of the book series isn’t literally a “bad match” and an important character in the main cast isn’t constantly facing discrimination because his parents are a “bad match.” it is constantly described as a Bad Thing and is one of the main issues within elven society, but a lot of fans just ignore that part and act like it’s fine 😭
