Here Kitty, Kitty...Kitty? [Closed Thread for Hezza]

Okay good, it was confirmed that this man wasnât going to try to beat him into a wall. He could relax now, there was nothing to no longer be afraid or frightened of. Sure this manâs expression was in a constant state of being fierce, but it wasnât anything to be afraid of. Just, keep calm and relax, take it easy, nothing bad was going to happen.
At least, as long as he didnât freak out and forgot to answer the manâs questions. Just the simple, âwhere are your parentsâ and âwho is Jibanyanâ, though the boy knew to a stranger explaining the last question was going to be very, very tricky. You couldnât just waltz to someone like this man and say âYes, youkai are very real, my best friend can call upon a nekomata that punches trucks, the fearsome Enma Daiou is real but instead of a beard he has spiky blonde hair, oh and by the way I can call upon one of four historical-mythological heroes from Japanese history and also a wisdom king very popular to get tattoos of with gang membersâ without sounding completely out of your mind or like a little kid pulling the legs of adults while being too clouded up in their imagination. He had to be very careful in trying to explain this to a normal person.
âMy parents are around, they just tend to work late, sometimes even overnight. Very busy peopleâŠâ He finally spoke up after trying to think, now was going to be the hard part. âAs for Jibanyan, wellâŠSir, do you think supernatural spirits are real to some capacity?â Boy that was going to backfire hard if this man thought he was absolutely crazy for saying that.
For a couple of questions Kiryu asked, he felt they were straightforward enough for the boy to answer but it seemed like he was at war with himself for coming up with the right answer. He waited patiently, only giving an affirmative nod and small âMm.â at the explanation for his parents. That made sense, it wasnât like his parents were the only people around here who worked late. He could sympathize with that, having done that himself in his real estate days.
Whatever kept the boy mulling over the answer to his question was, Kiryu wasnât about to press him if it was too complicated a subject. He had seen that look on Harukaâs face before and knew what it meant, if he wanted to tell him he would tell him when he was comfortable enough to.
Or he would answer it now and leave Kiryu wide open for a curveball he never expected to get hit with. He blinked, uncertain as of how to answer that. It wasnât as though he didnât believe, he has had plenty of strange occurrences happen in his life. At one point he would have sternly said no and found it all pretty hokey but after some odd experiences involving a woman in red from an old vhs tape and a few others, he couldnât find himself able to say no.
âHm...I canât say I donât believe in them?â He answered, scratching his head as he thought it over. The only time he was really approached over something like this was when people were trying to scam him, to warn him that he was cursed and that if he doesnât pay for this protective crystal that definitely isnât just a hunk of rock salt he will be in great danger. In this case though, this was just a kid who he could tell was being completely genuine. âI never gave it much thought, actually.â
