Alright things have changed yet again!
I haven't posted on here in a bit so I'll split this in 'over the past months' and 'today'
Over the past few months I've:
- Rewritten day 1 again
- Worked on the general flow of the entire game. What will happen each day, systems, dynamics, mini games, etc...
- Wrote a few things going on in the background the player may or may not intervene with
- Settled on some characters
- Did a height chart which honestly is oddly important to my brain
- Decided to redo character designs. I haven't started any, and most won't see huge changes but Maria looks so plaaaain
- Decided to finally switch engines. Rpgmaker MV is cool and all but it's quite limited, and I wanna do some programming myself
NOW for the things I've done ✨today✨
- Chose Godot as the game engine to work with. Seems easy enough!
- Created the placeholder PC with idle animations and a script to move
- Created a first scene with placeholder assets, learned how to use the tileset layers and how to set physics boxes do the PC doesn't go through everything
- Also, make the PC able to walk BEHIND parts of tilesets. Don't ask me how long this took
- Made a camera that'll follow our PC!
Aaaand that's all for today. Not too much but I'm sick again so...
Next I wanna implement dialogue mechanics. Might look into plugins for that, we'll see
