Blanket whump has me in a chokehold. I CAN'T imagine what could be more supreme than a body so weak, so cold, so lethargic burried under blankets so thick even the outline of the body is not clearly visible. The shivering so quiet -- only discovered when one reaches under the blankets to touch the sick character's hand. Blankets drawn to the chin, fully cover the neck & shoulders. Words muffled by a blanket drawn too close to the lips. Blankets pulled up by the caretaker when they slip off the shoulders. Gathering the character in one's arms while covering them in blankets because they are so fragile right now that even a nip of cold air could drive them to the edge. Character saying they are cold with red-rimmed eyes under all those layers.

Cover your sickies!! In blankets!! All of them.

hii what fandoms are you in ?

Hi! I don’t know if I’m really active in any fandoms these days. I’m still a massive D/octor Who fan, I’ve recently discovered W/hite Collar and I love that, I enjoyed H/azbin Hotel and H/R but I’ve never contributed to their fandoms.

a friendly reminder that even a light fever, a few hours of missed meals, or even a little bit of dehydration can become a huge problem with the right kind of physical activity. if you want to make your kind-of-sick whumpee pass out from exhaustion, have them carry heavy things for a bit. like groceries, or laundry, or cleaning that requires them to move through the house a lot. you don't need a serious problem to make serious symptoms :)

I’m be gone a bit mad and I’ve stated writing a long piece for Sicktember. So far I’m at 6k words and counting. I haven’t written like this in ages I don’t know what has possessed me.

It involves two rival radio hosts in the 1950s when one of them gets super sick and the other is forced to help them.

I am desperate need of some new content. Like why are there no sick day episodes anymore?? I just want to see one cute man be absolutely miserable, is that too much to ask??

Because series arent 9 seasons long with 22 episodes anymore, there's no time to have filler episodes.

I was scrolling reels and after seeing a clip of Daph/ne from Fra/iser sneezing and mentioning she has a cold, remembered that there were at least two (maybe three?) episodes where they made Fra/iser sick but NEVER made Nil/es sick and I am still mad about that

Ah sick Ni/les would have been so good!! I’m also so disappointed we never got a sick J/oey or C/handler! There’s not enough sick episodes that revolve around the guys getting sick.

I genuinely think I rate attractiveness by how cute I think they’d look with a fever.

“Sick at a formal/important event” will always be the top, I think, but “sick at a celebration” is also so so good. Someone trying their absolute best to be cheerful and have a good time and eat and drink and they just feel so miserable the whole time. Maybe they feel bad for bailing, too, because true celebrations of something are so rare sometimes. They want to tough it out and want to honestly enjoy some of it. Everyone’s earned that, right?

A bonus variation of this is if the process of working so hard for something causes them to get sick once they’ve finally reached the goal. Sick for their degree conferral, or for some type of accolade or recognition event. They worked themself too hard for it and their body’s catching up with them. Everyone around them congratulating them while thinking woah, you don’t look so good.

Current scenario doing laps in my head:

A and B have broken up, it’s only been a couple weeks and B is living in their office (glorified shed) they may have also done something to cause the break up.

B wakes up one morning feeling like they’ve been run over by a truck. The flu has been going around and it’s found its latest victim. They go and get a check up from C (who happens to be A’s best friend) who sees how miserable they are and says they need real rest and to get out of the shed but B insisted they’ll be okay.

C goes back and tells A how sick B is and A tries to act like they don’t care but deep down they hate the idea of B alone in a hospital somewhere with pneumonia.

B is back at work and they’re struggling, coughing and so dizzy they can barely stay upright. A sees how much B is suffering and decides to let B come home, it’s only until they recover… they swear.
