Zee: Zero had been scarce the last few days, odd for her. Normally she was around every corner and in every room but now... nothing. She had stayed to her room, not talking to anyone. No Nic, not her parents, not Evan. She ventured out now though, going straight to Nic's room. She was a woman on a mission as she knocked at his door.
Nic: He had been worried about her, as he always was on the rare moments she vanished, but he knew her well enough to let it happen. She had her reasons and he would probably never understand them anyway. He got up from his spot on the floor and walked towards the door, glancing through the peep hole before yanking the door open with a sigh of relief. "There you are!"
Zee: "Here I am." There was no heart in her jazz hands, leaning forward to kiss his cheek before walking in past him. She was distracted, it was obvious, hands shoved back deep in her pockets.
Nic: He could feel the shift in her usual mood, opening the door and accepting the kiss on the cheek before he pulled her closer by the shoulder, brow arched. "What's up cara mia?"
Zee: "If I had bad news...." She only started to speak after a long pause. Partly she felt sick, she had for days... but mostly she was afraid of losing him. "What would... what would you think would be bad news?"
Nic: ".... i don't know... Do you have bad news?"
Zee: "I don't know until you answer the question." She takes a deep breath, stretching her arms and linking them over her head. "Did you eat recently? Can I open a window? Something..." There was a smell upsetting her stomach more as she walked over to push it open and breath fresh air.
Nic: He blinked as she walked away, crossing over to her. "Just... tell me what's going on. You're giving me anxiety Zee."
Zee: She laid her head on the windowsill, lips in her arm so her words were muffled almost beyond clarity.
Nic: He thought he had heard her right but he couldn't be sure. "Come again?"
Zee: She only moved her head enough to uncover her mouth. "I'm pregnant." For days she had kept it to herself, unsure what to do with herself or a baby. To finally say it out loud both confirmed her anxiety over saying it and made it real.
Nic: He looked terrified for a second but he drops to his knees in front of her. "You're sure?" Well, that was a dumb thing to ask. "I mean, of course you're sure. You wouldn't be coming to me if you weren't..."
Zee: "I took ten tests and they all said I was." She saw him there, tilting to look over at him. "I don't know how to make a baby."
Nic: "That was apparently the easy part." he smiles at her, trying to reassure her as he rubs her legs.
Zee: "It is going to grow inside me... like a parasite." Sliding down, she sits beside him. "I never thought I would have a kid. I was prepared to be selfish and slutty for you for the rest of my life." Her eyes move to him, head following. "What do we do?"
Nic: "What do you want to do?" He asks, shifting so her can press closer to her. "If you want to keep it, we will. If not, there are other options. I'm going to be behind you a hundred percent." He's shaking, scared, but trying to hide it so he can assure her and make her feel better
Zee: "I don't know what I want to do." She admits. "Every time I come close to a decision, I think of something else so I change my mind." Zero slips in her spot, snaking her arms around Nic's waist. "I need to know what you think for real."
Nic: "i mean.... I wouldn't mind a kid, but you're the one going to be carrying it, having it." He kisses her cheek.
Zee: "You don't think we're really young for this?"
Nic: "I had people in my high school get knocked up at fifteen."
Zee: "Not sure how we escaped that fate. We were not careful at 15... or 3 weeks ago."
Nic: "or ever." he grins.
Zee: "I will figure it out eventually..." She decides. "I want a cigarette to help me make a choice."
Nic: "you aren't supposed to smoke when you're pregnant...."
Zee: "I'm not gonna make it." She collapses backwards dramatically, pulling him with her by her hold. "Will you promise to smoke for me while I can't?"
Nic: "Of course" he crosses his heart.
Zee: "You're a saint." She lets her hand fall on her stomach, rubbing across it and twisting her head to look at him. What was she going to do?
Nic: ".... shit...."
Zee: "Are you thinking that you have to tell your parents now? Cause that's what I was panicking about. It is not pretty up here." She taps her head.
Nic: "yes.... My mom's gonna bite my throat out with her teeth." drama queen
Zee: "I'm almost a quarter sure I can do this WITH you. Please tell her not to do that shit."
Nic: laughs. "thanks for that."
Zee: "Because I love you." Maybe this was better, sharing it and having him to freak out with. Rolling, she landed on top of him, flat as a board on his lap. "I'm so fucking tired."
Nic: Picks her up and takes her to the bed. "Nap now. We can worry about the rest later.”
