Rutger Bregman is the Dutch historian who became a global sensation after an appearance at this year’s Davos summit, where he accused attending billionaires of ignoring taxation. Now he has created another viral moment in an extremely uncomfortable interview with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson.
Bregman so riled Carson with his accusations of hypocrisy, critiques of Fox’s conservative agenda, and attacks on Donald Trump that the TV host called him a “moron” and angrily told him: “Go fuck yourself.”

Lot more people around the world are going to watch this now than if it actually aired. Speaking truth to power is the best viral content!
So this has been the news of Ireland for the past day. 796 remains of children where discarded and hidden away by the Bon Secours nuns in a septic tank on the grounds of an old “mother and babies” home in Tuam Co. Galway from sometime in the 1920s until the 1960s. These homes were common in Ireland to where unmarried mothers were sent to because they’ve brought shame on their family in the eyes of their religion.
I’d appreciate it if this was spread around on tumblr because many people don’t realise that this was what happened in this country. The General reaction from Irish folk was dismay and disgust and most importantly many were “not surprised” when this report’s findings were released. And The Catholic Church still has a stronghold on the country today.
And in unsurprising news the Irish pro-life groups and infamous spokespeople have been silent so far in condemning the actions and atrocities of the Catholic Church.
[Image: Tweet by Emily Mullin (@EmilyLMullin) and tweet by Isobelle Winter (@IsobelleWinter), both about the dangers of Facebook’s new preventative health screening tool. Images have been modified for visual ease but information has not been changed.]
Something to know about Facebook’s new “screening tool,” and advice/info that can most certainly be used outside of this specific situation.
For spoonies, the biggest deal is how this data, if leaked, could affect you in professional and insurance spheres.
Here’s Emily’s full thread, which discusses the details of the tool, and here’s Isobelle’s full thread, which extrapolates on specific dangers.
In the end? It’s another data grab. Data is worth money; don’t give yours away, especially not to Facebook.
PLEASE SIGNAL BOOST this shit is scary.

China Sorrows. On a horse. With armour. And a sword.
Thanks for the awesome idea goes to: @adler-obsessed! It HAD to be drawn!
Grey Version:
This is a redesign of the Sceptre of the Ancients from the Skulduggery Pleasant book series bc I didn’t like the orginal version. This was heavily inspired my Marvel Loki’s sceptre tbh. And the unity shader was done for school.
The crystal parts are black but I’ve added a purple/violett glow to them to make them look more interesting.
The model was created with Maya, zBrush and Substance Painter.

Aww I saw this on Facebook and thought it was way too good not to repost
That’s beaut that is.
Hey,
Just wanted to say a thing.
Seeing the growth in writing and art styles of the SP fandom has been awesome. Watching people develop their styles and skills over the years has just been great. I’m proud of you guys.
I hope whoever you are and whatever ship you sail you’re having an absolutely lovely day.
Bye!
possibly unpopular opinion:
I think one of the main reasons so many people dislike phase two is because it has the same build up that the first three books of phase one had. They're filler. Why is it boring? Because it's the same introduction of characters and other stuff that every good series starts with, but we are all expecting them to be like the last six books of phase one.
I'm actually really looking forwards to book thirteen/fourteen/fifteen - we've had it laid out and we know that there's a definitive plot now, there's places it's going and the build up is finally over.
The thing is that since we already know Valkyrie, already know her back story and her family, already know Skulduggery and jack shit about him, it's like the last three books were just... filler.
But the filler is what's going to make the next books good, stop them from being a confusing mess, and I hope they turn out nicely.
This seems pretty accurate.
we seriously need to bring back the concept of “despite its flaws i still enjoy it” instead of ‘cancelling’ every fuckin thing in sight
#we need to trust that just because someone loves a thing it doesn’t mean they don’t know it’s flawed
We also need to stop insisting that everyone enjoying flawed things must put 25 cents in the Problematic Jar and recite all its failings from memory.
