The Tale of the 8itch and the pussy
....I sincerely apologize for the lame pun.
Vriska, Vriska, Vriska. What can you say about her? âShes an extravagant bitch who is a jerk to everyoneâ, âSheâs a jerk with a heart of gold who only tries to save all her friendsâ, âSheâs only trying to save all her friends because she wants all the glory in the end!â, âBut as long as she does save them, who cares right?â and so on.Â
The comic, for now, seems to focus on two versions of Vriska. Letâs start with the one whoâs alive:
Saved from getting killed by Terezi, this Vriska has become more self-centered, and more of a bully than she ever was. And it makes sense! After all, wasnât she the one who saved her friends from becoming the train-wrecks they were in the game over timeline? Sheâs the leader now! Sheâs important. THE MOST IMPORTANT. She thinks so, anyway. And while it seems that she has everything under control with that attitude (the strategies, the army she wants to round up to kill English), itâs exactly the kind of behavior that will fuck her up, and might even play a role in fucking up reality even more. Iâm not being harsh on her, this was stated in the comic:
AG: I thought you said you would 8e 8rief???????? I'll say one last thing. Though the magnitude of the ensuing destruction resulting directly from your actions will be neither possible or necessary for you to fathom, there nevertheless ought to be a silver lining. The only question is whether you will live long enough to see it. I'm not a gambling man. But if I was, I wouldn't bet on it. Goodbye.Â
What exactly is Scratch talking about? The first thing that pops to mind, of course, is her involvement with the creation of Jack Noir. Problems with that: One, with or without her involvement, Bec would still have been created. Two, the way Scratch words his statement wouldnât make sense if we consider that the creation of Jack Noir is what he was referring to. Think about it, what did the existence of Jack Noir accomplish that is âreality-shatteringâ? He destroyed the human universe which was required to LEâs arrival. Doc Scratch knows almost everything of the alpha timeline, and there is no reason for him to be unaware that Vriska is alive and well by the end of the countdown leading to The Great Undoing. If you argue that the retcon somehow got past him, his uncertainty makes even less sense because he saw (Vriska) die! In both cases, itâs highly unlikely that he was referring to the whole Bec thing. And no, this post isnât really about figuring out what Doc was referring to (though there are some theories out there). This is about something else. Youâll see.
Anyway, tl;dr version: Alive Vriska seems to be as selfish as ever, even though she makes it seem like she actually gives a damn about what others think. And that is NOT the kind of attitude needed to complete a game of Sburb, a game that REQUIRES teamwork to be won. Which actually is a good thing that she went away as soon as she finished her strategy meeting. Went away to battle English, which will most likely backfire.
Letâs talk about other her now. (Vriska).Â
(Vriska) got killed by Terezi, went on an adventure in the dream bubbles, saw her dancestor acquiring a god complex and decided to give up on her plan to gather the army and do nothing. At first, it seemed like she learned a lesson. And she did! Itâs just the wrong lesson...Sitting around and do nothing while being able to help is not the right attitude when reality is being shattered by a giant green skull monster. (Vriska) became needy, oversensitive. While Alive!Vriska hides the fact that sheâs an insecure individual and her other weaknesses, (Vriska) is the exact opposite! Andrew even made a parallel between her and Eridan. Take a look:
(VRISKA): I cannot... (VRISKA): 8ELIEVE (VRISKA): You are doing the fish pun thing while you're 8r8king up with me.Â
CA: i cannot CA: BELIEVE CA: you are doin the fish pun thing while youre breakin up with me
Yeah. Canât really blame Meenah for breaking up with someone as oversensitive as Eridan, can you?Â
So what we have here is an overly selfish Vriska who learned nothing but quite the opposite, and an overly sensitive (Vriska) who needs to move a little and get stuff done. And since I doubt the alive Serket is going to change. Because we already saw a âbadâ Serket become a âgoodâ Serket in the comic, and itâd be boring to see that again, Iâm going to take a guess and say weâll be seeing (Vriska) undergo a better transformation. How? Well, by talking to a Vriska who might have actually learned a lesson! The one who went to battle Jack Noir, and presumably succeeded in defeating him.
Yeah, this version of her probably defeated Noir. Even Doc Scratch said that while he continues to not be a gambling man, something that didnât stop being a thing that was true or anything, but if he were, he wouldnât bet against her. This was one of his guesses, and his guesses are the best guesses Paradox Space has to offer.
So, she killed Jack right? Now what? All her friends are dead. That glory she looked for? That âredemptionâ? She isnât going to get any of that. Her recklessness led to the annihilation of those she cares for, and now she is stuck in a timeline alone (maybe with Gamzee around, but Fuck That Guy). If there is any Vriska that would learn the right lesson, itâs her! This is the version of Vriska Serket who directly saw the consequences of her acts, and finally question her ways correctly. Itâs too late for her, of course. But itâs not too late to contribute in her death by giving SOME advice to another version of her. Aaand that wraps it up! I sure hope we see this version of her soon!
Is Red Jane Coming Back Soon?
For many characters in Homestuck, there is a certain rule that always comes back:
This rule also applies to Lil Hal and Dirk, Calliope and Muse!Calliope and Dave and Davesprite.
So with the recent update having Jane and Nanna meet for the first time, and knowing that Jane talks in red when in her âevilâ form, could this mean Jane is gonna become evil again soon?
The Secret of the All-Knowing Cueball
Calibornâs lovely masterpiece and the flash that follows pretty much reveal one thing: Doc Scratch is none other then Arquius. This explains a lot of things such as his manipulative tendencies, his Yes/No âEquiusâ thing as well as the fact that he never swears.
What it DOESNâT explain however, is why Scratch is omniscient. First of all, we know that his omniscience comes from the all-knowing cueball, and NOT Lil Cal. Meaning that alongside his Arquius counterpart, thereâs also another component stored in Doc Scratch. Another âsoulâ, so to speak. I believe that soul to be none other than JASPROSESPRITE^2Â
Now I KNOW that itâs extremely hard to imagine this abomination of nature to be part of Doc Scratch, and itâs not that this theory is without holes or anything but weâll get to that later. First, letâs point out the similarities.
JASPROSESPRITE^2: It was established in what is now a highly focused understanding of my aspect as well as these radically magnified feline instincts!! :3! JASPROSESPRITE^2: Yes good point, it's true that feline instincts in no empirical way contribute to one's prognosticative acuity, fair enough! JASPROSESPRITE^2: But they really make it FEEL like my intuition has more credibility than it really deserves.Â
Sounds familiar? It should...
Never mind, I figured it out instantly because of my unfathomable intellect, limitless knowledge, and mind boggling charisma. Granted, my charisma had less to do with it than the other qualities. But it didn't hurt, did it?
She then proceeds to compliment Calliopeâs suit, which looks like Scratchâs. But you could argue that she compliments everything about Calliope: Head (which she refers to as a â Quite the fetching artifact to keep propped on such a smartly dressed pair of shoulders.â which kind of is reminiscent of Scratchâs head, a ball, the perfect fetching artifact. She also compliments her eyes but I donât think thatâs important (unless itâs an ironic thing since Scratch considers eyes to be for suckers).
Also, I think it goes without saying that both Scratch and Jasperose are quite talkative to say the least, as well as attention-hogging and self-centered.
The final âparallel â I could find was this:
JASPROSESPRITE^2: A princely young wizard who wrought science through a wand? JASPROSESPRITE^2: Or a fishy young princess who never spoke once to Lalonde? JASPROSESPRITE^2: What about "other guy", the one thought half-dead only? JASPROSESPRITE^2: Or the girl who likes ships! Cause they made her less lonely. ;3
aaand...
What would you say if I said a dutiful girl raised in the daylight was protected by a bulb-headed guardian, and learned to glow in the dark after death? What would you say if I said a vengeful boy on a path of nihilism was taken under the wings of fearsome angels, and learned to destroy hope with their light? What would you say if I said a reserved girl enamored by what dwelt in shadow was selected by the horrorterrors for service, and did their bidding at every step while convinced of her own autonomy?
The ONLY thing that seems to directly contradicts this theory is the fact that Jasrosesprite seems to have knowledge of other timelines, while Scratch clearly says his main domain is the alpha timeline. Aside from that, Jasprose has a big understanding of her aspect, the aspect of light. Light being associated with knowledge, and for now, she is the most likely candidate to be inside that cueball.
Still not convinced? Understandable. Letâs go to the second part of this theory: What does JASPROSESPRITE have in common with the magical cueball?
I SELECT THE FOUR OF THESE JOKERS, WHO I DEEM THE GREATEST THREAT TO ME. THE BLUE PHILISTINE WITH THE BELLIGERENT FISTS, OF COURSE. SO HE CAN'T OWN ME AGAIN, WITH HURTFUL INSULTS TO MY ART. AND ALSO THE ALPHA MALE AND HIS SMOOTH WAYS, SAY GOODBYE TO HIM TOO. I COULDNT RISK MESSING WITH HIS SWORD, WHICH I UNDERSTAND TO BE THE ONLY THING IN REALITY THAT IS POISON TO MY INVINCIBILITY. BECAUSE OF AN ILLEGAL INGREDIENT, A WHITE ROUNDCIRCLE OF TOTAL KNOWLEDGE.Â
This wonderfully worded description is brought to us by out main villain, but this isnât the first time we hear that the cueball represents Lord Englishâs weakness. Its only weakness if we believe what skullface says. Thing is, we have another hint to how English can be defeated. Back in Intermission I: Donât Bleed on the Suits, we get this little tidbit from Slick
Lord English is supposedly indestructible. He's rumored to be killable only through a number of glitches and exploits in spacetime.
This could mean that the cueball itself is some sort of glitch or a cheat, hence why Caliborn called it illegal.
Isnât Jasperosesprite such an unprecedented, ridiculously unexpected event to occur in the game that it could be considered a glitch in the system? Until a more likely candidate steps up to inhabit the cueball, my moneyâs on Jasperosesprite^2 being the future soul that haunts the all-knowing fetch artifact.
âTG: do i seem like the kind of guy whod accept a magic ring from whoopi goldberg TG: to awaken some egregious homofantasy for a ripped blue dudes mammoth eco friendly bulge â (from act 4 of homestuck)
This looks suspiciously like foreshadowing something Â
