walking into john’s office after a long day.

he looks up from his paperwork and sees you standing in the doorway.

“is it okay if i sit with you?” you ask quietly.

“of course, love. more than okay,” he replies gently, giving you a soft smile.

he pushes his chair backwards but instead of sitting on his lap like he expects you to do, he watches as you lower yourself to the floor and he realizes it’s one of those days.

you don’t want to feel seen. you just want to feel invisible. you don’t want to think about anything except the man sitting in front of you.

you position yourself under his desk and he slides back forward, trapping you in between the old wood and his body.

usually your legs would hurt from the roughness of the floor, but you notice that there’s now a soft rug underneath the desk, just for you.

the desk blocks out most of the light in the room and you’re grateful for that. all that’s left for you to see is the lower half of your beloved boyfriend.

you can smell his freshly washed clothes, the scent mixing with the natural smell of him. it’s comforting. reassuring. you can just barely see high enough to watch his chest rise and fall.

you rest your head against his thigh and he reaches a hand down to stroke your cheek softly.

“don’t worry, sweetheart. i will always keep you safe.”

John Blanche, one of the people who gave warhammer a visual identity, has passed away.

I don’t think that I need to talk about how influential he was or how talented and gorgeous his artwork was, I think that speaks for itself.

The world was a bit more colorful to have him, and the world of Warhammer 40k was more grimdark thanks to him.

Requiescat in pace.

Sometimes, I imagine Ethan Winters with his hair down instead of back brushed. Or him with longer hair that reaches his shoulder. His hair is definitely longer in RE 8 and looks like it might grow longer to be a bit wavy. It's cute!
