Anointing Oil: To Quiet a Racing Mind
✨ For when your thoughts race in circles and spend all your energy before you even have time to take action on any of those thoughts.
🌿 1 part California poppy, Eschscholzia californica. To sooth the mind.
🌿 1 part Chamomile blossoms, Matricaria chamomilla To relax the mind.
🌿 2 parts Lemon Balm, Melissa officinalis. To bring sweet thoughts.
🌿 2 parts Passion flower, Passiflora incarnata. To quiet a racing mind.
🌿 1 part Rose petals, Rosa canina. To bring familiar comfort.
🌿 0.5 part Rosemary, Salvia rosmarinus. To target the mind and memories.
🌿 1 part Yarrow, Achillea millefolium. To staunch the flow of thoughts.
🌿 Apricot kernel oil
✨ Steep the (dried) herbs in enough apricot kernel oil to cover the plant material by an inch or so for 4-6 weeks, then strain out the plant material, and you have a shelf-stable anointing oil for candles or your body (external use only.) Apricot kernel oil will go rancid in about a year, so only make as much as you’ll use up! You can further preserve your oil with vitamin e or other skin-safe preservative.
✨ Alternatively, you can make a magical powder from the herbs to use in spells that way, if you’re not into oils.
✨ When I use an anointing oil on my body, I place a drop on my forehead, heart, stomach, hands and feet. ✨ May this bring you peace of mind and some quiet ✨
