THIS IS BECAUSE THE OP IS LARGELY SHOT FROM LOID'S POV

Notice in most of the scenes he's in, he's walking behind or towards everyone else

And in the scenes he's missing from, the in frame characters are looking backwards to the camera

Or the perspective is shot from above or at eye level, because he's looking down on Anya or crouching to meet her:

ALSO, if you really want to cry, the song is called "Souvenir" so Loid is literally saving these color-filled memories as souvenirs for when his mission is done and he needs to leave 😢😢😢

But GOD I hope he stays, he loves them so much and they bring so much color to each others lives 😭😭😭😭😭

It’s been a few months since Empires s2 came to an end and I wanted to make a piece reflecting on the time we spent with these characters 🥰✨ When season 1 ended I did a series of paintings set to the End Poem, and so I decided to revisit the concept once again, making sure to switch up which line corresponded to which person. This series means a lot to me—in fact, this is one of two big Empires s2 projects I’ve been working on! There’s another one still in the works :D

It's so heartbreaking so very little it would have taken from Shauna to get Jackie to come back inside.

Like, she's learnt that you're sleeping with her boyfriend, are currently pregnant with his baby, has been keeping a journal about how awful you are for the last few years and has just absolutely ripped into you verbally in the most cruel, humiliating way possible while also turning everyone against you....

.....and all it takes to get her back inside is 'This is stupid, I'm sorry, ok.'

And Jackie just immediately gets up to go back in without another word of reproach because it's Shauna.

was just thinking of my princess pookie bear jackie and her unadulterated gay sweater slay. it's so crazy to me whenever i remember that she actually did push van out of the way when the plane nearly chopped her head off, like she had no way of knowing that it would turn off in time, like she was super willing to sacrifice herself for van, and sure it might have been the guilt talking, but wow, like bare minimum that tells us is that jackie, truly, deeply, valued shauna's life more than she did her own, like okay. she was hella willing to die for van as long as shauna wasn't dying with her. it's shauna's survival before anyone else's. so yeah. huh. i guess its perfect that she ensures shauna's survival not just after her death, but by her death. her death is essential to shauna's survival, and so i guess, in a really twisted way, it's exactly what jackie would have wanted. have a normal day i guess.
