I could. If you could tell me what it is you want to go on a run for. Yesterday I heard some of the girls talking about how they'd found barbecue grills and charcoal, and it's a good a way to cook as any. If you don't have anything specific in mind we could go hunting. Real hunting, this time.

How much I do or don't like them doesn't matter, Allison. They seem competent and that's enough. If we have to leave, at least we know the others have someone to fall back on. Go on, tell me what you think. You always do.

There’s a million reasons why this plan isn’t going to work. Canada could already be infected — in fact, they could have marshal law instated and we could go to the border and never be allowed entry. Or maybe it’s so bad that the border patrols themselves have been turned into walkers. I’m just saying, this … whatever this is — it spread fast.

… Ugh. Alright.

Look, here’s the deal. It’s roughly 300 miles to the International Boundary if we go up through Michigan. But here’s the problem — we’d have to cut through Detroit, which has about, uh, seven hundred thousand people. Considering all of America’s media is down, we don’t know the situation there, but I’m betting it’s pretty bad. We wouldn’t be able to get through a city that populated without being spotted, unless you want to go in guns blazing — which I wouldn’t recommend.

But if we go around the Detroit metropolitan area, it almost doubles the distance to the border, but we would be in less populated areas.

Canada? We’re going to fucking Canada? Okay, let’s say — for a moment — that this theory is right and that, somehow, Canada has managed to escape the apocalypse and are living their lives out merrily in complete bliss while we all die.

What about the border? How are we gonna get past that? If Canada is fine, then so should the border. But — oops! Look at that! We don’t have passports! Are they really gonna believe that a couple of kids are trying to get over the border to escape man-eating monsters and the oncoming destruction of humanity?

It isn’t exactly a nutritious meal in the making, but I’ve found half a dozen pots of Ramen that we can share between us. Hopefully they’ll seem like a big meal to our shrunken stomachs… If I could only find a match that works and boil some water.
