hideki embodies the idea of jujutsu sorcery in its most paradoxical form. whereas others rely on formal effort, he manifests an instinctive awareness that allows him to reshape the reality before him. in view of this philosophy, he uses his relationship with fashion and style to represent controlled intention and identity through self-expression.
one of the most interesting aspects of our unorthodox sorcerer is that ‘bias cut’ is a technique built around methodic control, but hideki himself is not polished in the traditional sense. the technique itself reflects the fundamentals of both tailoring and firearms craftsmanship.

that is to say, ‘bias cut’ stems from an instinctive understanding of what feels right rather than an obsessive desire to calculate and control perfection - it is almost insulting how little effort he appears to put in simply because it is so deeply hardwired into his acumen. given his conspicuous lack of desire to improve in the established sense or pursue growth as a sorcerer, kiyose hideki is reckless, notoriously lazy, and often careless in battle; for he rejects conventional firearm techniques and combat discipline. he favours unpredictability, thus transforming uncertainty into opportunity. similar to a designer's ability, he possesses an innate sensitivity for balance and adjustment. this instinct is born specifically from taste and extends into his equipment.

THE TAILOR'S TOOL - CUSTOM CURSED BELT TOOL
a bespoke cursed tool designed specifically for hideki. it serves as his tailor's tool, functioning as both a designer accessory ( like a high-end piece of fashion ) and the control mechanism of his cursed technique. the belt helps regulate and store his cursed energy + allows for synchronization between his abilities and his improvised fighting style ( whilst compensating for his lack of discipline ). ‘bias cut’ identifies what needs to be refined and the belt provides what is necessary to execute those adjustments. during combat, the belt acts as hideki's primary cursed energy reservoir, distributing energy between his body and his twin pistols. it also houses and conceals his weapons and spare magazines/cartridges; however, it does not create ammunition.

custom built cursed tools designed in tandem with the belt. his amt hardballer longslides ( .45 acp ) function as his needles, the very medium through which he applies ‘bias cut’. their elongated stainless steel frames and customized fabrication mirror hideki's accord with vogue cultism - every minute detail is deliberate and designed to accommodate both performance and taste.
the pistols fire real physical ammunition coated in cursed energy, whilst ‘bias cut’ manipulates what happens after the shot is fired. without the belt, the pistols remain powerful cursed tools, but they lose their full potential.
despite his preference for distance combat - rooted in a profound sense of laziness and disinterest in direct engagement - both pistols contain a built-in cursed blade beneath the muzzle for close-range encounters.
