CPD out of CPS Campaign

We are a collective of organizers/community members in Black Lives Matter Cincinnati who seek to build a movement to expel CPD out of CPS and ultimately eradicate the school-to-prison pipeline. We believe schools should be a place of liberation geared towards disrupting the status quo rather than an engine for maintaining it.

Police handcuffed multiple students, ages 6 to 11, at a public elementary school in Murfreesboro on Friday, inspiring public outcry and adding fuel to already heightened tensions between law enforcement and communities of color nationwide.

Having police officers in schools leads to the criminalization of youth. This is not the way children should be treated in schools. What exactly are we trying to teach them?
