one million years since i posted but heres another character from my old robot series. shes a human actually!!! her name is rosetta marie thornes
when i was a kid, she used to be a gravity falls self insert 😭 but shes come so far now!!

in her original story, she was a super rich and successful engineer AND a grieving mother who had lost her husband to prototype and her son, charlie, to a fatal accident. in order to cope with the loss of her child, she rebuilt him as a robot (not the same kid) so that he could kind of.. live forever and never grow old or die.
i could have done something with rose’s grief, and how that affected her recreation of charlie and the sort of symbolism behind making a Perfect Copy Of Your Dead Child That Can’t Die but.. i was like 14.
her relationship has changed with prototype now. instead of being one of the creators that prototype wanted dead, she was.. still involved in his upkeep when he was under a company!!
prototype would remember rose as the only person to recognize him as a person, too.
she quit working at the job that made her fix up prototype and went on to do more with her talents in life.
nowadays, shes more of a hermit in her big modern house with an AI (named widget!) that she programmed to help with her depression struggles. i havent decided if charlie is part of the story or not - but i do think that rose still lost her family, or is at least entirely lonely.
i dont wanna show her old art because she used to be white and thats so scary JFKALRNWOFN but shes out there.

ohh my sci. so in his original story, he was very close to prototype! that much hasnt changed aside from the fact that hes a lot more emotionally balanced than prototype is. hes more of a foil to prototype despite being so close to him - their ideology is Different because of how their pasts have treated them.
where prototype is focused on his perfection as a calculated, above-human machine; sci is empathetic to both machines and humans because of the way that his creator brought him up.
his creator made him just to exist. just so that he could have choices and live - despite being an "immortal machine". since ive redesigned sci, i had a sort of idea that my old design of him is what he used to look like closer to when he was still with his creator/just meeting prototype shortly after their death.
the reason why sci chose more human features (nose, ears, mouth, hair) is because he is fascinated with them, in a sense. they get to grow up and grow old - and they make choices all along the way. sci kind of simulates that through the updates to his own appearance.
sci also, along the way and while working with prototype, decided that he wanted to try his own hand at creation. he made four little critters (this was also in his original story) because he wanted to experience what it was like to "raise" something, as well as give these little Thangs the same chance he had when he was made. just.. to experience!
prototype has never understood why exactly sci did this, but - considering how much he loathes most humans.. he wouldnt understand. because, when sci explained it - it mostly came down to "because he could/wanted to"
which, to a perfect machine like prototype, would be an unreasonable reason.

prototype was the main antagonist of an old story i'd had since i was a kid playing with toys in my room. he kind of sucks LMAO as a person i mean,
originally, he was an escaped "spybot" prototype (His Name. That's His Name) who was mistreated by his creators and was going out of his way to kill all of them for revenge. how? why? didnt matter. he had some kind of mafia after being homeless for like, however long.
now, hes some kind of politician using the fame hes been granted for the good of machinery! except hes.. still going out of his way to harm anyone who threatens his campaigns to "support his kin", which mostly does include the people involved in his creation (or anyone with a big enough influence) that attempt to speak out against him.
hes in some kind of messy not-exactly-romantic-but-maybe-codependent-and-unlabeled relationship with my other old character, sci (his closest companion since they met in a scrapyard). he'll be posted separately!

if nobody could tell, i listened to "the court jester" by thquib and i've never been the same. i made this freak a while back for a "once upon a witchlight" campaign that hasnt yet taken off, and may not for a while, but i love him very much so THERE! here's some bonus doodles from after i drew this.
