Eyes narrow dangerously at the accusation flung at him, hands clenching into tight fists. As much as Yejun would have deary loved to put the blame on some servant or other for telling on him to Daehyung, he was willing to bet his very _job _on the fact that this was _not _the case.
It was probably more like a twinâs intuition. When theyâd been children, Daehyung was always the first person after Yejun himself to know the younger twin was getting sick. Yejun figured that he really still shouldnât be surprised at it anymore. And yet, here he was.
âIâm not talking about your usual sick, not the insult kind of sick that I so often call you.â
Gods, it took everything Yejun had _not _to throw the book at Daehyungâs stupid, pompous head. He loved his twin, truly. But the other was being more difficult to deal with by the day. War had changed his brother, and it hurt.
Which was why it was easier to play along with Daehyungâs insults and mockery. If Yejun laughed at them, then it took some of the wind out of Daehyungâs sails. Though being called sick as an insult was painful.
Which was why if Daehyung wanted the truth, he could _work _for it.
Feigning indifference, Yejun picks up his book again and pointly flicks though it, looking at his brother through his eyelashes.
âI donât know what youâre talking about, Daehyung-ah. Iâve been feeling fine. Itâs like I said at the wedding, my throat has been giving me trouble lately. Itâs nothing to worry about.â he lied easily, though he was already preparing himself for the inevitable fit his twin would throw.
His brother was stupid, perhaps dumb, probably not, but he was dumb enough to think that he could trick Daehyung. Yejun can try as much as he wants but Daehyung sees right through him, this coughing hasnât just been going on in a few days, no itâs much more, Yejun is sick. Yejun is sick and Daehyung wants to prove it.
If Yejun doesnât want to tell their parents then thatâs fine, Daehyung wouldnât want to tell their parents either if he was in his brotherâs situation (but he really just doesnât want to tell them anything). Yejun doesnât have to tell a single thing to their parents, but to him? To Daehyung? Couldnât he even tell his brother that he was sick.
The two arenât as close as they used to be, thatâs obvious, a few years ago then Yejun wouldâve probably had told Daehyung if something was wrong, but now? Daehyungâs not sure what has gone wrong, but it must be something and it is most definitely not himself.
The two of them were a match made in hell, how Yejun manages to endure Daehyung (which is a pain in the ass) is unknown to Daehyung, because Daehyungâs rude and he treats his brother like shit, he cares about his brother, he worries and loves his brother, but he treats his brother like shit.
âYour throat has been giving you trouble lately?â is that his brotherâs answer? His excuse? âAlright, then letâs go to the doctor and get some medicine for your throatâ he grabs his brother by the arm and drags him up fiercely, this coughing has been going on for months, so even if itâs just because âhis throat it giving him troubleâ then that has been for too long and they should go see a doctor anyway.Â
âWeâre going. Even if I have to drag or carry youâ
