When Soos finds Stan's undershirt lying on the floor, he takes it and vows to give it back to him...eventually.

Soos didn't mean to take it. Well. He did, sort of.
He rubbed the fabric through his fingers, his fingernail catching on a piece of dried food. Bacon from that morning's breakfast, most likely.
At first, his plan was to return it right away. He debated simply tossing it into Stan's office and running away, or leaving it on the couch in the den. Handing it to Stan directly was out of the question, even though his boss probably would've barely even bat an eye, grabbing it from him with a disinterested grunt. It was the easiest way to get rid of it and move on with his life.
But that would mean not having it right now, in the comfort of his bedroom, draped across his bare stomach.
Soos glanced at the clock.
One in the morning. It'd been hours since Soos had seen Stan's undershirt lying on the floor in the hallway, silently inviting any curious teenage employees who happened to be sweeping nearby to pocket it, yet it still felt so warm. It was a sickly off-white, and littered with various stains, some from food, some from taxidermy glue, and some from Stan himself.
It was slightly damp, which was kind of confusing, given that it was a breezy fall day, and the two of them really hadn't done much strenuous work. Summer was winding down, kids were in school, and Halloween was still a month away, so things at the Shack had been slow. Was Stan just naturally sweaty all the time?
The thought made something deep in his abdomen flutter with arousal.
Stan was always walking around in what Soos called "old man cologne", and while he'd gotten used to its strong scent over the past four years, Soos was eager to find out what Stan smelled like underneath it.
He brought it up to his nose and took a cautious whiff. The pungent scent of Stan's body odor mixed with that lingering cologne immediately hit him, and before he could stop himself, he shoved it in his face and inhaled.

He pulled down the hem of his shorts slowly, sucking in a quiet breath through his teeth when his tip caught on his boxers. It sprung back towards him, flinging precum onto his stomach.
"Oh man," he groaned, ashamed at just how riled up he'd gotten, "I'm such a creep."
The scolding did little to actually stop him from grabbing his cock and giving it a cautious stroke, and he numbly accepted that he was really going to do this.

"You and I both know why you're here, Soos," he'd grouse, blunt as ever. His bored tone left no room for any more lies, so Soos would immediately begin to grovel.
"God, I don't know what came over me. I'm so sorry for takin' your shirt, Mr. Pines, please don't fire me!"
Stan would raise a brow with a smirk, walking over to the door and locking it.
"Fire you? You outta your mind? You think I can afford to lose my best handyman? Nah, what I want," he'd stand before Soos, slipping his suit jacket off, unbuttoning his shirt one by one, "is for you to show me what you were doin' with it."
Back in his bedroom, Soos' hand picked up speed, stroking him with urgency as his fantasy became more and more vivid.
"Tell me, kid," Stan would mumble, low and rough and so close to Soos' ear, "You like the way I smell, don'tcha?"

i didn't wanna talk about this on twt bc i know i'm gonna sound like an asshole, but i have way less followers here so i feel more comfortable venting my feelings off of priv lol
but it's really obvious to me when people don't actually read that many fics and instead base their entire perception of a ship's fanworks on what they see in the twitter tags.
i've been seeing more and more complaints of there being "no" or "hardly any" bottom ford fics/fanworks and ngl it kinda makes me roll my eyes bc it's just straight-up not true lmao. anyone who regularly reads stancest fics would know that it's literally never been the case, not for the current stancest fandom and DEFINITELY not for the 2015-16 stancest fandom.
i mentioned this on my priv twt acct, but if you filter the ao3 stancest tag by explicit sex, the vast majority of even just the FIRST page is bottom ford, with the few outliers being one of MY fics and a couple others.
one of my moots brought up the fact that people are frustrated that bottom/top dynamics are rarely tagged properly, which is def a legitimate complaint, bc that's true! i'm willing to bet a lot of people with strong preferences wont even bother opening a fic if it's not tagged properly, which would lead them to believe that no fics for their preference are being written.
but again, that's not the actual case, ykwim? and just for the sake of argument, even if you DO filter the stancest tag by bottom ford and bottom stan, bottom ford STILL has more fics lol.

But alright, why do I think Stan meant it? Because, as Iâve pointed out in the second linked post, Stanâs coward mode is his default mode and he only ever sticks his neck out for family, but he didnât seem very protective of Ford when Ford got captured by Probabilitor the Annoying in Dungeons, Dungeons & More Dungeons:

Tbh, I think there are certain things, a few canon momentsâsuch as Carynâs obvious affection for Filbrick, Ford not including Fiddleford in his deal with Billâthat the fandom in general is more comfortable just ignoring/not thinking too deeply about it, while obsessing over different, more appealing details. Stan not wanting to save Ford in Weirdmaggedon is one of them! Imo, Stanâs ability to hold a petty grudge is waaay bigger than most fans give him credit for.
Donât get me wrong, though. I do believe Stan still loved Ford deep down. He didnât know Ford was actually being horribly tortured by a sadistic Bill in Weirdmaggedon (he mustâve assumed Ford stayed frozen as a statue). If he had known, he likely wouldâve changed his mind about saving Ford.
