Carolina Crown - 1990
A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots.
There is a picture of the Glassmen Convoy with a caption "âŠfrom the early 1980's. The tags on the bus were issued by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles between 1991-2002.
You know... I do believe youâre on to something here.  I couldnât find a definitive picture that seemed to match the plate exactly (partly due to the bus image quality) but in digging around to double check this Iâve seen more than enough to convince me that we were off in our estimated date.  (Or maybe that one was all me?)  I seem to recall that since the original source didnât have a specified date for it, we went off of other things around it or by the logo on the front to get our âearly 80âČsâ guesstimate.  Either way, it does look like we were off by a decade or so.  Thanks for the catch and the info!  Much appreciated!
For the rest of you playing along at home, hereâs the picture in question and some license plates to compare it to. Â You make the call.
Retreat shot of the Bluecoats from 1985. Â Iâm not 100% sure, but I think thatâs the Glassmen off to the right.
Nice close up of the Bluecoats snareline from 1985

Fan cam video of a VERY early season run through for Spirit of Atlanta 1995. Â The description for the video on Youtube actually mentions a little about the season, specifically how this was a hard year for the corps after taking a year off from competition in â94. Â It also says that this was actually the 2nd show for the corps after the first was canned in Spring. Â I canât confirm this right now, but definitely an interesting prospect assuming its true.
Corps portrait of Spirit of Atlanta from 1995 for an anon.
Can you find anything from spirit of Atlanta 1995? My brass instructor marched then and I haven't been able to find anything.
First glance digging hasnât turned up too much, which is to be expected. Â As a general rule, if a corps doesnât make finals, the amount of available stuff is going to be lower and Spirit placed 20th that year. Â
BUT! Â I was able to find a few little things that Iâll be putting up shortly! Â Thanks for the request! Â Weâll also be sure to keep an eye out for anything more, so if youâd like to leave us your url, we can tag you if we should find something in the future.
