knockoffs are my favorite. like super-fave. this one is totally rad. East Coast Creative loved anthopologie's dresser - that cost two dollars short of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. wait. take that in. reread it. ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. for a dresser. i'm gonna go on a limb here and say if you're reading my blog of fabulous diy's, you're not a member of the One Percent Club, so spending a GRAND on a dresser isn't really something you do. (if you are a member, well poo on my nose. welcome.) ne-way, this is awesome. and it cost her $30 and a weekend. it it's awesome. way more awesome than the over-priced inspiration.
tutorial.
i'm thinking about changing the name of the blog to Shanty 2 Chic Lover Blog because damn gina! i just love that blog. everything is so easy and looks so awesome when it's finished. listen, i have a garden-hose-holder-thingy at home. it's monstrous. it's UG to the LY. this, well this is the opposite of that. this is the Emma Stone of the gingers. this makes red hair cool.
tutorial
book theme! book double post! weeee! sometimes i'm not totally fracking random! i LOVE this. y'all know i love lights and i love books and oh. em. gee, this brings them both together in a super rad way. HGTV is cool a lot of the time, but i try to stay away from the name brands just because i like to give love to the "normal" people, but this was too good to pass up.
tutorial.
i really didn't know how to follow up that whole beer / wine table post, so i thought to myself, "self? what do people who drink beer and / or wine do?" and the answer was : who the hell knows. but these are cute. and i want one. see kate sew has made a clutch that i would absolutely carry around, and i would be proud to answer "it was meeeeeeeeee!" when i get out of the elevator because i can't tell a lie!
tutorial.
oh. em. gee. yes please. i need this. like, i NEED this. now that i've seen it, i may not survive without it. domesticated engineer was nice enough to put together a rockin' tutorial with easily-read, step-by-step photos and directions that anyone with a phD in awesome can do with their eyes closed. for me, who graduated with a psychology degree (what was i thinking?!?!) i'm offering sexual favors. for this table. come and get it. or give it to me. or whichever makes you less comfortable.
tutorial.
ah, hanging plants. the only kind of outdoorsy-thing that i kinda like. they're clean, and shanty 2 chic makes them look even cleaner with the lines here. and she built this, but it looks to me like an old drawer would do the trick as well. remove the bottom board from the drawer, add some distressed paint, and voilà! (bet ya didn't know i spoke french too, did ya? look at me all edumacated and shiiiiiiiiiiiit.)
tutorial.
this. is. awesome. this is a little kid chair made out of old photo frames. yes. yes it is. even if you don't have kids, apartment therapy has made something that will either speed up your ovulation process or make you troll the little people conventions to ensure you have someone in your life who can take advantage of something so cool. because this is cool. i need like 50 of them. because they're small. so i can have more.
tutorial.
so i know not everyone has this table. i'm not stupid. i need you to look past the table. there is no spoon. you need to look at what sypsie designs has DONE with the table. that's wrapping paper. under glass. and that my friends, is GENIUS.
tutorial.
a little secret : my laundry room is atrocious. it’s the only room in the house that’s just … sucky. so i’m always on the lookout for fantastic, clean (isn’t that the stickler?) laundry room ideas. well guess what people. eur-fracking-eka. i love this. tatertots & jello, will you marry me? of course we’ll need to move to a commune where more than one marriage is acceptable, but don’t let that make you shelve my proposition. (jajajajajaja - i crack myself up. half of the things i write are to make me laugh. you know that right? like, you’re just eavesdropping on conversations with the three me’s?)
tutorial.
bamboo. it is magic. everyone knows pandas eat bamboo. and in copious amounts. i even have some tattooed on my wrist so that i can snack whenever i get hungry. bamboo. food. mmm...
but i digress. bamboo is also fantastic for your home. it's beautiful and has clean lines and adds an eastern flair to any project. operation home has taken a bamboo lantern and has turned it into a lighting fixture that i need in my home. except it would only last a day as i'd eat it immediately!

ok ladies and gents, i'm here, alive. i had taken a break - life got busy, yada yada (or yoda, yoda for all you geeks out there.) but in eminem-inspired fashion, i'm baaaaaack! < end intro >
do you see that ugly metal storage thing hidden in this fracking awesome redo? i mean, do you? i have like 50 of those in my house leftover from my husband's bachelor-days-when-design-and-decor-were-not-a-fundamental-need that have somehow not made their way to the garbage. (panda reminder : throw those bitches away or follow finding home's very easy, step-by-step (double points if you're singing the nkotb song right now!) tutorial.) <-- double parentheses. score!

I am in love with your blog your posts are unique and you don't post the same posts as other DIY websites. I love it!!!! Thank you
thank you so much for the comment - i had been taking a hiatus because i didn't know if people were reading and yes, i like to try to find original things, so it takes some work. you've inspired me to get some new posts going. thanks!
dang. i said DANG! i love me some great befores and afters. this makeover cost a whopping buck thirty. yes, design dining and diapers had a coupon, and yes she shopped at the devil-reincarnated hobby lobby, but i'm sure you could find a coupon for michael's and get something just as similar. (and no, i am not apologizing for my hobby lobby comment. you're choosing to read this blog and you can just as easily choose not to - it's all part of the fun - weeeeeeeeee!!)
EDIT: whoa. i just posted this completely unfinished diatribe. see what happens when you get me excited??
anyways - so i love these chairs and one day i promise i will grow myself some ballz and try to redo a chair. right now it intimidates me because i'd be taking something truly functional and if i mess it up, then it's a pile of wood and fabric. although those original chairs aren't much more than that anyway.
