oh my god i'm so tired psychotic does not mean violent it does not mean angry or erratic. it refers to a person suffering from psychosis, a loss of touch with reality that includes hallucinations and/or delusions. psychotic people are not inherently violent and y'all need to understand how much stigma you create when you again and again incorrectly use the word psychotic without even thinking about it

i feel like people aren't getting how dire ai is. we are running out of drinkable water. our brains aren't engaging as much with what we see and hear. people near data centers don't get clean water and experience electricity blackouts. it's being used to make pornography of underaged people and women. it often just lies. it affirms everything. it lies. it has made people kill themselves. it lies for gods sake. and people act as if im dramatic for being staunchly against it. 'now i KNOOW you hate ai and whatever, but look at this cute video' this isn't me being a new age puritan about internet videos, this is about the fucking earth and our future living on this planet. people are suffering now, people will suffer more, and my friends and parents will roll their eyes and think im annoying for despising ai so explicitly. we need to wake up because we cannot live like this

You have to let people love you. You have to let people get to know you. You have to let people help you. Being so completely selfless that you try to erase yourself off the face of the planet and never ask for anything and reject everybody's offers of support makes you very hard to love! Unfortunately. Emptying yourself out of everything that makes you, you is not actually what your loved ones want from you, generally. They want to make you happy! They will be so so sad if you don't give them the chance. It's not all selfish. I promise.

Oh god oh no people are reblogging this again without the context that it's speaking back against the Christian teaching that love is abnegation and that true love means emptying yourself of your own desires, suffering, and submitting yourself to death, even death on a cross.

I think that it's good to read / watch at least a few stories with questionable elements. Not to praise those elements, yet rather to take in those stories, dissect them, and to ponder them. What parts were the most messed up? How respectful was the handling of its elements? Are there any allegories that you can find, intentionally written or not? What do you think of these allegories? What would you have done differently if you were the one with the pen? How do these gruesome elements affect the story? In what ways would the story change without them? Is there anything you would add to this story? Anything you would take away all together? Was there anything you found comfort in, despite those elements? Why? Getting into stories that are both disgusting and have you asking questions like these and more are good for media literacy, I'd say. You learn more about what makes a story bad, good, mixed. You learn more about yourself. You learn about how to not handle heavy elements, and why the handling of them was bad in those disgusting stories.
