the pride parade for my city is saturday [2 days as of writing this - idk when this is getting posted]. i've gone every year since moving here. last year i saw some people wearing therian gear.

while i'm not a therian, i'm otherkin and i have a mask i made to kind of reflect that but it's kinda edgy looking so i only wore it out for halloween since i made it, i'm going to wear it to pride. i'm really scared since my friends and family will be there and i haven't really "came out" to them yet. i feel like i owe it to myself to wear it out at least this one year though.

My weekend has been extremely busy running around doing family activities with two teens and a young child, but we spent around 4 hours at a water park and just being able to relax in the water let me have so many shifts. It’s been years since I’ve felt them that strong.

And luckily the sun wasn’t too bad out and I avoided getting burned. Did have to wear my sunglasses the whole time to not be blind though lol

Unsure of this counts as joy considering my husband isn’t a fan of the community.

He’s always been uncomfortable around humans, more so in large gatherings. He dislikes the majority of them and finds them to be two faced and annoying for the most part, the only ones he likes he says are our kids, one of whom I think is alterhuman and made a post about a while ago (possibly an axolotl kin of some sort).

So yesterday I decided to ask him after he ranted about his coworkers and how he doesn’t understand why they act how they act (clamoring to help cover a shift during a big event because it’s when a bunch of college girls will be around, and these men are in their 40s and my husband (also 40) thinks it’s disgusting that they’re going for girls barely out of high school) “Do you think you were born into the wrong body sometimes? That maybe you weren’t meant to be human?”

He said yes, he truly believes he was supposed to be an alien. He hates how bright this world is and how loud things are. He finds cities to be too much and wants to be far from civilization.

I think he also has a bull kin type because my god does he act like one. I mean that in a good way, bulls are great with their kids and those they care about, he is a gentle giant until someone pisses him off (which does take a lot to do, but when he pops it’s usually for a good reason and only to the one to piss him off). He also has mannerisms (so much licking) and when he gets drunk he’ll say the cows done moving for the day and go throw himself (he loves flopping onto things) onto the bed.

The thing is he knows about the community because he’s met my brother who was a godkin in a bad way (extremely racist among other issues that made me cut contact) and has seen some of the bad pr.

I want to disclose my own otherkinness with him but I’m not sure how to go about it, or how to talk to him about the possibility of his own.

there is definitely alterhuman joy in this and id love to get updates if you have any
