Amphibia-Sasha’s Childhood Past
A major fact we seen in Sasha Waybright's character as hinted in Amphibia(in the "Froggy Little Christmas" episode) and explained by creator,Matt Braly is that the reason to why Sasha was such a toxic friend and a manipulative control freak to Anne and Marcy,as well as controlling others by being the queen bee of Saint James Middle School,was as shown and revealed in Marcy's Journal is that her parents divorced when Sasha was four or five,which kinda led to her becoming powerless, deciding to make a deal with herself that if she can't keep her parents together and can't survive in a unstable home life and between two families,she make those at school do what she says and having a desire for agency to keep her friendship with Anne and Marcy together with her to avoid being lonely. As much as a bossy,selfish,and controlling jerk Sasha was,she only became that way because she was a scared girl whose world and security was torn and fallen apart caused by a divorce and the divorce(along with her need for control) was the main reason she nearly took over Amphibia and chose power over her friendships with the girls in the S2 finale(along with reconsidering going home,not caring how much her parents miss her) that nearly drove her friendship with Anne and Marcy away,even after Marcy was the one who caused the girl's to be sent to Amphibia in the first place,leading to her atone her past mistakes after escaping to Wartwood and reading Anne's journal,choosing to be a brave,supportive friend and defender of Amphibia and win back the trust of Anne and Marcy.
I feel since there was a planned Season 3 episode,"Sasha Alone" that would be about Sasha talking about her past childhood and how her parent's divorce affected her,turning her into a control freak,prior to her time in Amphibia and after her redemption in "True Colors" and "Turning Point",but it was scrapped by creator,Matt Braly because he felt he didn't want Sasha blaming her actions on her parents.
So,here is a colored pic featuring Sasha Waybright admitting to Anne on how she thought she's the smartest,bossiest,and toughest leader who makes the shots of Anne's friend trio,but it was all a lie because she only acted that way because she felt so powerless due to her unstable,broken home and the divorce led to her world had fallen apart because her parents have split and are now dating and remarrying,leading to her deciding to become a controlling,selfish jerk all because she was a sad,scared,and lonely girl.
I feel afterwards Anne would fully understand how Sasha acted that way because of her desperate need for control,her parent's divorce,and having to deal in a broken,unstable home between two families. Anne would fully forgive Sasha,telling her she was sorry for not being there to witness her parent's divorce, finally appreciates Sasha for changing not only to lead a Wartwood resistance and defend Amphibia and other worlds from Andrias' invasion and multiversal domination,but also she is glad to have her as a best friend, likes the version of her now, and tells her she needs to be herself and support those for whom you care about,not just control others and keeping her and Marcy together not to feel powerless or give out demands and orders.
