I may end up deleting this before the end of the year, but I need to write out my feelings about the turn out of the US 2024 elections.
First and foremost, what. the. fuck. I am absolutely sickened beyond belief at what I've just witnessed. In some ways I feel stupid for having hope that we had moved on from the extent of racism and sexism displayed last night, but, I was so soul-crushingly wrong.
Next, yes, I am going to start casting blame. I first want to wish a very Fuck You to George W. Bush. You fucking imbecile, you ruined the Us education system. I cannot help but wonder if the outcome would have been different if our literacy rate was over 54%. (That stat is for a reading level above a 12 year old, 21% of Americans are completely illiterate).
For two, all of you sorry ass wannabe revolutionaries on social media that convinced young Americans that they are not far left enough nor a true revolutionary enough if they actually voted for Kamala Harris. Newsflash, Dipshit, electing a multiracial, BIPOC WOMAN as president IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT. Not only that, you cannot call yourself a "true leftist" if you do not understand how the government works within a system you hope to abolish. Your encouragement of people to abstain from voting because Kamala Harris, somehow as sitting Vice President (who does not have any responsibility aside from taking over the presidency if the sitting president dies) is more complicit in a genocide than Donald Trump who was just congratulated by the active Genocidaire. You fucking morons. Y'all just lost any and all opportunity for a ceasefire or arms embargo. Gaza will be turned into suburban neighborhoods, strip malls, and parking lots due to your complete unforgivable and outright malicious ignorance.
Two, A. Those saying that Kamala Harris lost because she did not go far left enough, again you do not understand how the system functions. Your job was to get her elected, then work to push her further left. We succeeded in doing that with Joe Biden, y'all just don't pay attention to politics as they're happening. The specifics of which he was moved further left, was on the topic of climate change. He has been the single most climate forward president we've ever had, since Nixon developed the EPA. (Say goodbye to the EPA now). Like ShoeOnHead said, "you want to endlessly critique those in power". You don't pay attention any other time, you just say "wah dems are just republicans in blue" and cry about it, instead of investigating and then trying to cooperate and contribute. This was evident when TikTok user and political activist PearlMania5000 went to a White House Correspondence dinner and y'all started calling him a fed and a traitor. He's working for actual change, unlike you absolute dipfucks that only obstruct. Kamala Harris would have been the most progressive president we ever had, and she would have made it easier to work with other progressives to accomplish all we needed. Instead y'all listened to fake activists on TikTok who's only issue was a genocide that they don't even fully understand all the details of. Being against a genocide does not make one a leftist, it makes you human. There are so many more principles within the ideology, all of which y'all do not know nor care about. I hope all that used their platforms to disenfranchise voters feel ashamed; because, that's what y'all did. Telling others their vote doesn't matter or that "both candidates are the same so why even bother?", that is voter disenfranchisement and voter intimidation. Congrat-u-fucking-lations.
Furthermore, abstaining from voting or encouraging others to throw their vote away on a third party candidate (who is also a zionist, transphobe, anti-choicer who is in Russia's pocket, and is not a climate activist at all, but a 74 year old multi-millionaire grifter y'all convinced yourselves was the savior) you are selfish to the core. You couldn't vote a certain way because of YOUR conscience? You could not put others before YOURSELF but you want to call yourself a "leftist"? real progressives and activists fight for the greater good, you are performative and obstructionist at worst, and idealistic to a fault at best. All around, you are a danger to those around you.
Three, I cannot wait for the day those tariffs cause prices to soar and our poverty rate to skyrocket so I can tell every single one of you mother fuckers that voted for this orange monkey, "I. told. you. so."
I'm a survivor of domestic violence and today I am fully aware of exactly how the US feels about women like me. I hope a miracle happens, I hope to God I'm wrong about Project 2025 and the impending fascist regime.
We will just have to wait and see.
