Crapules & YATOO Concept faces Eastern Europe

Last stop on our european trip, Austria and it's amazing Hohe Tauern National Park....Amazing unless a rainy wheather and dark clouds comes to prevent you from seeing the 3500m high peaks and the biggest eastern Alps glaciers. We still found a nice hike before facing the 2500m high panoramic road across the park and the 4°c at it's top (believe it or not, we saw two guys who had made it with Vespas...). Unfortunately, it was already time for us to go back home through Italy and a nice last night in our Yatoo Caddy. A long trip that brougth us all across Europe in the most beautiful places. It's going to be a long year untill next summer and the next trip. Any idea for it ?!

On the next morning we went to Podyjí National Park, in Czech Republic. A good occasion to free our hunter-gatherer spirit and bring back some mushrooms and trouts to the camp. A great meal in perspective unless you forgot to by gas reloads...

The next stop on our road is the Hungarian National Park of Hortobagy. A flat marshy area which is the greatest nesting destination of migratory birds in eastern Europe. We could admire this rich wildlife as much as this impressive sunrise (only for the few courageous who had not been hurt too strongly by the local beer)

A few hours driving led us to the Groapa Ruginoasa in the Apuseni National Park where we could admire this (scarry) Incredible canyon.

We camped at Geamana Lake after, one more time, a long muddy and sloppy track. Amazing landscape of this lake which is actually an ecologic disaster caused by gold and copper mining. The village that used to lied there is now flooded by toxic goldy waters, leaving only the church's steeple emerged.

Rumania

Came the hard part: 18 km of muddy track in the forest which left us with a flat tire. But the reward was worth it : the Retezat National Park, the greatest romanian natural park with more than 80 glacier lakes and 60 peaks above 2 300m. Useless to say that we directly took up the challenge of the Varful Peleaga, its highest summit (2 509m). But the Romanian wheater soon came to drive us away down to our next camping spot with plenty of beautiful landscape pictures...and aching all over.

If leaving Belgrad was not an easy thing (avoid driving there as much as possible!), crossing the rumanian boarder was even harder. Yet the rumanian landscapes and Storks make you forget it. We finally landed at Lake Marcului. The place could have been more attractive if there had been more fishes and a bit less junks all along the shores.

After a few Schnizels and a rocky track going through typical romanian villages, we set up the camp at Gura Apei lake. A short night for the team and it was already time to leave Dan, the local friendly fisherman we met there.

Day 8: Sunset over the hills of Sarajevo. After the calm wilderness, discovering the buzzy capital of Bosnia is particularly refreshing. Fantastic city!

Day 7 and 8: good times in Bosnia at Una National Park, rafting and ruined castles all day.

We went to Jajce, set camp by the lake and then had a look at the waterfall, where a high-diving competition was on.

Quick stop in Mostar, it was our turn to put on the show with backflips and diving in front of the rebuild medieval bridge.

We're now in Sarajevo for a couple of days, stay tuned.

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINIA

Day 6: after the warm typical summer day at the beach, we're back in the middle of Croatia, at the Plitvice National Park. Incredible place even though there is way more people than lakes and waterfalls. We still found some decent shots. 

We're now in Bosnia, right after the border, in the Una National Park. Tomorrow is rafting and we're already back on road to Sarajevo!

Day 5: due to weather conditions, we decided to head South and hit the infamous Croatian coast, close to Zaton. We were quite lucky down there and found some rocks to jump and a camping spot facing the sea. We were super happy to finally have a hot sunny day at the beach!

Croatia is not over yet, next stop at Plitvice!
