Chronic pain is like having someone scream in your ear 24/7. Sometimes they get louder or softer, but they never actually stop. And sometimes you’re so acclimated to it that you’re just like, “What? Oh right, someone’s screaming in my ear but go on…” And sometimes it’s so consuming that you can’t concentrate on the person or task in front of you because, you know, someone is screaming in your fucking ear.
