As our vacation winds down here in Japan, I am going to miss this amazing city. It is always with a little sorrow that we depart Japan and we can never return soon enough. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, seize it, I guarantee you will have a great time.
So where to begin. We didn`t really have any plans for today, but ended up going to Nara to visit the Daibutsu as well as check out the deer. It ended up being a good time, and watching the kids get acosted by deer for crackers made it worth it.
Also, Japan has the craziest playgrounds. If these were in America, the cities would be sued so many times, which means they are doing something right!
You know, Japan never ceases to amaze me. Who would have thought there would be a gourmet Kit-Kat store out there? I know I didn`t, but Yoko was nice enough to inform me that it exists. I bet you can guess where we went. We also had some good Ramen and Chinese Buns, hung out at the camera store, and rode the Ferris Wheel. Tomorrow we are heading to Nara so hopefully I can get some good pictures of the deer.
So today we went to Shinsaibashi to hang out. We always have fun there with lots of food, shopping, and goofing off options available. I always enjoy finding Gyoza (Fried Dumpling) statues and taking ridiculous pictures with them. Tonight we also ran into an Australian couple who were lost, so we played tour guide for a little bit. Was a pretty good day overall.
In our ongoing vacation adventure, we visited Universal Studios today. The kids had a blast in the Harry Potter area of the park, which I have to admit, had a pretty cool atmosphere. In the middle photo, the group of Spidermen are not actually employees of Universal Studios, but spidey-fans who come out and hang at the park. Finally got to take a photo with them.
So are bi-annual tradition of travelling to Japan is going well. It has been a hard year for our family so having that time to kick-back and relax has been amazing. These are a few photos to show you what we got up to on Christmas Eve. Hope you enjoy!!
Throwback Thursday. Seattle, circa 2010. Man do I miss this place. As much as Europe is amazing, I can’t wait to get home.
I have a ton of photo’s from Madrid that I have yet to post. I found this scene to be very representative of the city. Lots of cafes tucked into every open space. Always options for coffee.
The sunsets here in El Puerto are amazing. Everyday it is so colorful and I can’t help but get a quick photo. Always amazing. Yesterday we had the levante winds mixed with rain but at the end of the day this was the result.
So along with Halloween, yesterday was Ryan’s first Futbol game. He had a great time and is getting better every week. Those Spanish kids though, are amazing.
Well, Halloween 2015 is a rap. We had a great time going trick or treating with the kids. Unfortunately Ryan didn’t want to wear his mask so he is half of the guy from Scream.
I really like the use of public space in Spain. They have these beautiful walkways, bike paths everywhere, and a lot of places to sit and relax. They also have a love for Graffiti, and not always of the family friendly variety. The top photo is last nights sunset which was spectacular with all of the rain clouds still lingering in the sky.
At the end of the day, this is my favorite spot in Spain. Spending time with family during the summer’s, hanging out during the fall. We haven’t been through winter yet, so we’ll see how that goes.
So today was one of those days that started off slow but ended really well. The top picture is Ryan chilling with his Harry Potter glasses on. The bottom photo’s were taken tonight while strolling along the waterfront. Good times!
So, I haven’t had a chance to post for the past couple of days. I figured since it is Thursday, we could throw up some old pictures. These are from my trip to Jerusalem, which is a very beautiful city.
The weather this weekend here was crazy. Thunderstorms all weekend which did some interesting things to the roads. This is really our first rain here, as we got here in the summer and it only rained once for about 2 minutes.
My favorite scene from yesterday was this dirt road we ended up on by accident. The rain did a good job of trying to turn it into a river but it was a fun drive.
Yesterday we were looking for restaurants to host a Christmas Party at and we stumbled upon this gem. The atmosphere and the views here were spectacular.
