What do you do when you do not feel loved?

When you feel like there are people that care, but they cannot see your pain and you cannot bring yourself to point it out for them for fear of rejection?

I tend to recoil from the world. Curl into a ball mentally and emotionally and just try to get to the end of the moment. Problem is, that moment can last days or even weeks. And in that time, I have to put on a show at work that I am fine when I know I am not.

It's honestly so tiring. The act, the negative emotions, the loneliness. But I don't know how else to cope. It's so hard to tell people in your life "hey. So I am a mess on the inside and need someone to tell me they love me because I feel like no one would miss me if I were gone tomorrow. Can you help out?". It feels like being a burden to them. I feel like a burden to them. I just want to be ok. Not rich, not well known. Just... OK.
