“I, uh... well, I stand tall at a mighty 157cm. My weight ain’t none of y’beeswax. I’m pretty fair, I guess. It’s pretty cold where I’m from, so I typically don’t see a lotta sun. My hair’s a mess, too. I never can get it to do what I want, since it always wants t’stand on end from the fucking static.

My eye’s pretty cool, though. I’m missin’ one, obviously, but the other’s a gold dragon’s eye. I got the fangs and claws t’match too. The rest of that shit ain’t none of y’business. Scars, tats... whatever. There’s a reason you can’t see it.”

Masamune’s a pretty sickly dude, actually. He’s got your typical allergies to things like grass and pollen, of course. But then he’s got a compromised immune system, and he’s a cancer survivor, to top it off. He’s disabled too, of course, with his missing right eye.

It was simply the cards he was dealt. There’s a lot of raw power in this little man and his small body struggles to cope with it. He does his best to eat right and stay in shape, but illness still hits him hard. Of course, this is all stuff he keeps under wraps. It ain’t manly, after all.

Headcanon | Kojuro tries to dispose of Masamune’s stash of alcohol whenever possible

Kojuro doesn’t give a fuck if Masamune is still as battle ready and as proficient with his swords as ever when fighting drunk. It’s Not Safe for the Date clan if their leader isn’t functioning at 100% mentally on the battlefield or through a meeting because he decided to have too many cups of sake, and there would be hell to pay if any of their more powerful frenemies were able to capitalize on this.

(Not to mention the countless amount of times he’s had to coddle Masamune through various painful hangovers.)

There isn’t much he can do, since in the end, what Masamune wants is what Masamune gets, but Kojuro is willing to try for the better of both the lord and their domain. Building up the young lord’s tolerance proved to be too disastrous when he misjudged how much liquor Masamune could hold one time, and it would look suspicious if he kept on gifting the nearby lords with alcohol; he briefly thought of dumping all the jugs into the sea, but it would be a shame to waste such lovely liquor - and Masamune wasn’t helping.

But there is the people. In the end, Kojuro just distributes the large jugs of wine to their constituents and soldiers when Masamune’s not looking (They’re a bit confused on why he continues to gift them profusely, but a gift is a gift), and when Masamune asks him about their disappearing inventory one day, Kojuro just shrugs and makes an offhand comment about how the people needed liquor more.
