Anyone wants to say hi to Gwen?
"Hello, Miss Stacey."
Glowing pair of green eyes appear in the shadows. A squeak follows it, and teenage boy dress in hoodie and jeans stumbles out. He wrings his hands together nervous. He blinks looking at the other. "Er... hi.. where .. where am I " he asked softly.
His eyes went owlish. ' Like Spiderman" he squeaked clearly excited . " That's so cool" he paused for moment thinking. " Well I'm kind of mutant, it's my power, not only to speak to all animals.. but kind of" he didn't know how to explain it. He had look of focus on his face. Before he disappeared into spider, small one but size of the other, but green. He sheepishly turned back clearly nervous. "I use to be able to change just to tiger, but… I was… taken., by family member, he' has a lot of power, and he hates my dad.. so he experimented on me.. and my powers grew" at first he hated his powers but they were really helpful.
For a moment Wendy was astonished - then she thought, of course. Young superheroes just sort of... turned up... wherever she went. It was new that this one wasn't spider-related, but she was used to this by now.
She nodded. "You know what? Let's not talk about this in a cave. I've got a camp a ways down the trail. I'm Dr. Weaver, by the way." She offered him the hand that didn't have a spider in it.

The Look of horror was on his face. His mother was going to kill him. Actually a lot of things were maybe going to kill the mutant. But he didn't want think about. " i thought.. " he grew quite. He ran his hand through his green hair other bothered by the spider of course. " Hi, " he said to both of them and blinked. Looking towards the spider. " Oh" he tilts his head in wonder. He's quite as he listens and nods. " He's happy, curious on why you holding him but happy" he beams, distracted by the creature. He was just glad to see another person. Wondering how he even got this far.
There were quite a few things Wendy could have said in response to that - she could have asked him what he was doing here, but he clearly didn't know where here was or how he'd come to be here. She could have asked him if he needed help. But she was distracted by him attributing thoughts and opinions to the spider. Very few people were that kind of empathetic with bugs, although she'd met a few. Did this boy have spider powers, and could hide them from her extra senses somehow?
"Um, weird question," she said, coming a little closer, "but do you mean you can actually talk to spi... no, let me rephrase, do spiders talk to you? I can talk to them - I can tell them come here, go away, bite that guy, sort of thing, but they don't talk back."

Wendy, in the middle of nowhere collecting specimens, was not expecting to see another person... never mind somebody who so obviously didn't belong here. He wasn't giving off the weird, tingly sensation that went with spider powers, but he clearly wasn't a normal kid, either.
"Uh... how specific do you need me to be?" she asked, and decided to cover all her bases. "Nameless cave in the Sierra Cacachilas, Baja, Mexico, Central America, Earth, Milky Way. Be careful, there are some large spiders in here." She held up the tupperware container in which she'd trapped a very handsome Califorctenus cacachilensis. Hopefully this boy wouldn't turn out to be anything like an unfriendly alien... the spider did not deserve that.
Peter Blinks looking around the room, and winces as the reader looks at him. " I can explain"...
" The one, of many" he beams for moment. " Hi Doctor.." he paused worried look on face. "You're not going to experiment……" he trailed off. " Well that doesn't make me feel better… Why can't it just be someone good or.. MJ .. "
"It's never anyone good," sighed Wendy. "It's another scientist - my former boss, actually. Her name is Olivia Octavius, and if I can find you here, so can she. We need to get you somewhere safe."
" Wait Doctor Oct ... I fought her counter part... " he trailed off. " Safe, that's.. good idea.. " he is worried of course, Universe hopping was weird.

"Tell your aunt you need to go, but don't tell her where we're going," said Wendy. "I've found a spot - there's a couple of others there, too. Not from this universe."
Peter Blinks looking around the room, and winces as the reader looks at him. " I can explain"...

Peter winced and gave sheepish look on his face. "It's…a terrible name… but.. it works' he admitted. His eyes widen as fro moment. ' oh.. you met others" he asked curiously. His mind went to that one moment. That seem unreal. " I did… met two .. same name but we were different" his heart sank just thinking about the others peters. Who went through way to much.
"Peter Parker, right?" asked Wendy. "There are a lot of those, but also plenty of others who aren't. Which... I haven't told you who I am, have I? Sorry about that. I'm Dr. Weaver. Wendy. And I'm not the only stranger in this universe who's looking for you, I'm afraid."
Peter Blinks looking around the room, and winces as the reader looks at him. " I can explain"...
" Spider Tingle" he blurted out . That's why they were going to crazy. " You got bit by radioactive spider too.." his eyes light up for moment. He was just happy not to be alone. "Same.. I mean it only happen twice.. … which is strange, but … I just roll with it" he should be freaking out but he was as calm as he could be.
"You really call it the spider tingle?" Wendy asked. That was more embarrassing than any of the things she'd come up with. Then she straightened up and composed herself. "Actually... it's happened dozens of times, at least, across several universes. It's complicated." When had this become her life?
Peter Blinks looking around the room, and winces as the reader looks at him. " I can explain"...
" Oh thank.. someone I really diidn't want to explain that" he trails off for moment. 'Wait which me.. the.. … er .. spider or Just Peter" I mean his secret wasn't out. But he was sure she knew at least he hoped she did.
"Both," said Wendy. "Sorry, I sort of followed the, uh..." She'd never thought of a word for it that didn't sound a bit silly. "I can sense when other people have the same kind of powers."
Peter Blinks looking around the room, and winces as the reader looks at him. " I can explain"...
"No need," Wendy assured him. "I'm going to assume I'm in the right place, then - I'm looking for somebody and I'm pretty sure it's you."

@crbweaver gets a starter with Hannah Stacy-Parker
Hannah officially hated Multiversal bullshit. It had been cool at first, but it wasn't cool anymore, and she wanted to go home.
Ducking into an alley in the New York City of a different Earth, Hannah pulled her mask off.
She wanted to scream and cry but unfortunately she was suddenly aware that she wasn't alone.
"Go away... I'm fine." That was a lie, but she didn't have the emotional strength to get into what she was feeling.
"I'm fine."
“You could say that.” Hannah sighed. How long had she been struggling to get home? Had her mom and dad noticed her absence? They must be worried sick if they had.
“It doesn’t seem fair that us Spiders always lose people… I honestly don’t know what is worse, losing them to death or being separated and not being able to get back to them.”
Wendy felt a pang in her chest. She’d heard that over and over. “I guess I’m luckier than most. I could go back to mine any time I want, but... I don’t want to get them involved in this. It’s not fair to them.”
She pulled up in another alley, next to a building that had a diner and a pawn shop on the first floor, with run-down apartments above. “Fourth floor,” she said. “We usually go up the wall, so the neighbours don’t wonder about all the coming and going.”

Hannah snorted when the other said that the other guest in the Lair was named Peter. It was a good chance his surname was Parker.
“I’d say that it’s nice to meet you, Wendy, but that wouldn’t exactly be true.” Hannah tried to smile but knew it wasn’t convincing.
“Shall we go then?”
“You’re having a really bad day,” Wendy observed. “Is this that... hmm.” Probably not something to talk about on the street, even if it looked like nobody was listening. She led the way to the car and climbed in, unlocking the other door for her guest.
Only once Hannah was inside did she talk again. “You’re a long way from home, aren’t you? Something... broke, I guess, a few months ago. I don’t know what or why. Not really my field, I’m more of a biologist. I wish I knew who to trust with asking.”
Coffee-themed spider-man Peter Perker.
"My name is Peter Perker. I drank a radioactive spider..."
"You drank it?!"
"It fell into my coffee. And ever since, I've been the one and only Hyper-Spider."
"Why hyper?"
"Well, the spider made the coffee radioactive too, so now I only need to sleep like two hours a night."
"You must get so much done."
"I'm a student, I work in a warehouse, I fight crime, I play D&D, I took up knitting, I've watched everything on Netflix, i do jigsaw puzzles..."
"Geezes."
"Yeah, turns out being awake twenty-two hours per day is really boring."
@bornoflegends what if it's this guy? 😆

Hannah knew the Spider was right, she needed somewhere to sleep, safety was more important than her petty teenage angst.
The tidbit about yet another Spider staying at the Lair was interesting.
“Who is it? I’ve ran into so many Spider People, maybe I know them.”
“His name is Peter - he won’t tell me his last name,” said Wendy, “but that’s fair. I didn’t tell you my name, did I? I’m Wendy.” She looked out of the alley, and there weren’t too many people around but it would probably be a good idea to keep their heads down. “This way. My car’s just a block away.”

“Unless the ‘Lair’ can get me home, no thank you.” She shouldn’t snap at the Spider person. It wasn’t her fault Hannah was stuck here.
“Sorry, I’m just… I want to go home.” She ran her fingers through her hair.
“I’m Hannah.”
“I don’t know about home, but it’ll be a place to sleep,” said Wendy. “Look, there’s been a lot going on here the last little while. Something... broke, and there’ve been people like you who don’t belong here passing through. We’ve got another one staying there right now.”

Hannah wished the other would take the hint and leave her alone to lose her shit. But the other didn’t seem to be in any rush to leave.
Taking a deep breath, Hannah tried to collect herself.
“Sorry, I didn’t realize someone was here…” That annoying little tingle in the back of her mind, she got the same feeling whenever another Spider person was near.
“… Oh, you’re one of them.”
Wendy couldn’t help a little chuckle at that. “You sound disappointed,” she said. “You need some help? I can show you where the Lair is.” She still felt silly calling it that.
