Y'know... when you ask someone why they like a "problematic" ship, they don't usually respond with "strictly because it's problematic". It's more nuanced than that like 90% of the time.

People that like age gap ships don't usually list "the age gap" as their favorite thing about it. Folks that like incest ships don't usually like it "just because they're related". Those who like abusive or toxic ships aren't usually saying that the abuse and toxicity are the things they enjoy most. There's almost always more to it than what you see on the surface.

And y'know what else? Even if someone's favorite thing about a "problematic" ship IS the "problematic" part? That's okay! Exploring dark themes in fiction just to explore them is fine! As long as things are tagged properly and sufficient warnings are provided, it's not hurting anyone just by existing!
