If you can see this, AWESOME! But I’m not at this blog anymore! I’m at @thisoddartist now! Go follow me there if you want to keep up with my new shenanigans!
Unless you are a seasoned witch, here are a few dos and don'ts for magic, witchcraft, and divination you can or should not do on Halloween.
DO have fun with some simple divination and spells
DON’t just run with it. Do your research and have everything you need.
DO divination like crystal gazing, cards, and runes. These are easy enough to get the basics off, and, other than memorization, simple enough to learn. And unless you go and do something bad, you won’t call any baddies to you.
DON’T touch a Ouija board. Never. Just don’t. Those are bad news. Most witches, even those who’ve been in the magic(k) business for years steer clear of those bad boys. You will call on some nasty things that are hard as heck to get rid up. They will screw your stuffs up. Just don’t. Nope.
DO clean your house beforehand and afterwards-both physically and spiritually. Use smoke, bells, words, whatever (there’s a ton of ways to do it), and lay down some nice salt around the perimeter. (Yes, salt)
DON’T do a cleansing ritual that would be culture appropriation. There’s enough where this should never be the case.
DO feel free to leave offerings and send thoughts to your ancestors.
DON’T (unless this is part of your religion and you KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING) leave offerings to demons or nasty spirits. This will stir all that bad stuff up.
DO do simple spells that are on a beginners level and don’t contain any sort of summoning.
DON’T EVER TRY TO SUMMON ANYTHING. EVER. UNLESS YOU ARE EXPERIENCED AND KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING.
DO recognize that witchcraft is a legitimate practice that many (if not most) religions have practitioners of. Witchcraft is not a religion. Witchcraft is not “evil”.
DON’T be a judgmental prick.
DO stop your friends if they’re doing any of the Don'ts above.
DON’T have an unsafe and non-fun Halloween night.
I know I’m not gonna be on this blog for much longer, but this needs to be repeated as the spoopy holiday comes up
Look at All of these inclusive vegan buttons that came in today! This is the second design of mine to be made into pins, so this is super exciting! They'll be in my Etsy shop tonight!!! #vegan #veganart #illustration #button #pin
My mom said that if this post gets 500,000+ notes, then i can get a fluffy chicken like this one
Oh, hey look I’m reblogging again, because I want you to have this chicken!!!
As I’m going through my old post to delete non-art related ones from early 2013, I came across this post. Memories, y’all.
And they got their fluffy chicken, too.
Just to let you all know, this blog is officially starting to shut down. I no longer have anything in my queue, and a of now I’m starting to delete posts that are not originally mine. The name of this blog will soon turn into “thisoddartistoldart” and I will be officially moving over to @thisoddartist, so if you want to keep up with me, start following me there!!!
Vegan rep’ing at my internship again.
You can grab a shirt with this design on my Etsy!!
So many of you have asked for shirt, posters, and a lot more with this illustration on it! As much as I’d LOVE to be able to make/created all of these things by hand so I could control the costs and resources used, but as a full-time student with a job and an internship to keep up with, that is simply not possible at the moment. So, I opened a RedBubble account, and now you can get Powered By Plants on shirts, notebooks, stickers, even scarves, you name it!
I won’t make much through RedBubble (I think i get like 20% of what the products cost), but10% of what I make from this work on RedBubble will go to a Hurricane Patricia relief fund!
Here’s the listing: http://www.redbubble.com/people/thisoddartist/works/17096720-powered-by-plants
This has to be, with out a doubt, the worst reasoning I have seen in longest time
Ugh. Bad logic is way bad. My university has bad folks of all types. Typically it’s the rich people causing trouble, not the poor ones.
I did a tweet thing again.
Anti-Anxiety Pouch
I created this spell for my friend who was worrying very severely about a problem that she was having. This works best if you have a specific problem that you’re worrying about, however, you could adapt it to be used for general anxiety as well. This spell is best performed during a waning moon.
Materials
Salt
Lavender Oil
Amethyst Stone
Moon Water (optional)
White Paper/Material
Purple Cloth/Material
Purple String
Process First, focus clearly on your intent and knot the purple string using the method found here: http://foresthoney.tumblr.com/post/96182153517/how-to-witchcraft-knot-thread-cord-magic. Then, sprinkle salt and lavender oil on the white paper, imaging a calm light surrounding you. Anoint the amethyst stone with moon water, then fold up the paper and place both the paper and the amethyst stone in the purple cloth. Tie the purple string to the cloth. Keep the pouch with you, and whenever you feel your anxiety creeping up, take a moment to breath and undo one of the knots.
OMG I need this!

“Garrus…”
“Shepard, please… Don’t try to speak. I’ve got you. We made it.”
“Garrus, this is important.”
“What is it, Shepard?”
“Tell anyone you had to carry me out of here, and I’ll kick your ass.”
Quickie Mass Effect doodle to end the day!
I ship this ship way to hard for someone who’s only played about 2 hours of the first game.
Me: *sees cat* No wonder the Ancient Egyptians worshiped these majestic fluffs of fur! So agile and graceful!
Cat: *gets claw stuck on something*
Me: *unhooking cat* So majestic...
