A poem I made for woman’s history month.

Sisters I advise you to join hands,

Acknowledge the hell which you were born into.

Denounce their transgressions against us,

For the first years are only but a preview.

As you age it must get even worse,

Do not ever loosen your grip.

Our support only goes so far,

Then stumble down into a relationship.

This is what we were taught,

Sisterhood would be our saving grace.

As a kid none of that really mattered,

Living in a picture you didn’t want to erase.

Oh how those seven years went by in a week,

Losing our innocence somewhere along the way.

I can’t remember who must have stolen it,

Only when our hands were dropped and betrayed.

It wasn’t losing our darlings which drove us mad,

Rather the thought we would never be the same.

Nothing is left when our sisters finally leave,

Just fortunate to keep an old maiden name.

Another passing day and I turn twenty two,

Spending my time wondering down the street.

So many men will call me beautiful,

Though not one of them will say it to be sweet.

It seems that’s how those vultures pick us off,

Putting our love on a collar and a leash.

Did our matrons not teach us any of this horror?

They said a man is supposed to be a host not a leech.

Sisters I advise you to join hands,

Crawl out of these demon’s skulls.

No longer will we hear these double standards,

We shall no longer be running in circles.

Instead we will chain our fathers to the ground,

With the same bonds we were taught to hold.

By this they say we are manipulative and calculating,

After all one has to adapt while left out in the cold.

February Bullet Journal Setup

Every monthly setup can be challenging if you run out of ideas. This year I’m planning on having a lot of sea/ocean/ship themed spreads and

Body image is a huge part of my life, and I know a lot of you struggle too, so I made a poem.

This is so cold,

Such a melancholy scene.

How much hatred can I really have,

To look in the mirror and choose not to be free?

Trying to get more slender,

Detest for all of my being.

Going out in public,

Yet hate when people see me.

My peers would call it self induced.

See it’s not my own neglect,

Rather the blunt force trauma,

No trusted adult was able to detect.

Do not eat,

Focus on your work.

If you do this you’ll be prettier,

You’ll obtain all of your desired perks.

Too much to handle,

Trying to not rely on a diet.

Working out so hard,

I’d scream if my pants began to tighten.

It seems I have no neck,

At best I’m called a renaissance beauty.

But I am so outdated,

It’s all due to my lack of radiancy.

No one knows,

Except my thoughts who fight to get out of my head.

On the outside I look so strong,

But on the inside,

Do you realize that I want to end it all?

Why can’t I be you?

You know it’s whenever,

I go to take off my shirt.

Your eyes linger,

And I feel so much worse.

You look at me like I’ve commited a crime.

I’m trying to be myself,

But I cannot help to whine.

I realize,

You don’t have to help me.

There’s a lot no one knows...

In fact I’d rather you not.

I hid all the trash from my candy,

Disappointing myself,

This is worse than being caught.
