You Might Be a Death Witch If...
💀You have a collection of gravestone rubbings. 💀You have a collection of graveyard dirt from all sorts of graves. (Or from various graveyards.) 💀Black clothing is a must. 💀You have spirits in your house that you aren’t even familiar with. How did they get in again? Ohh right… 💀Skulls. Everywhere. 💀You look through the obituaries weekly. 💀 Funeral Service sounds like a fun career. 💀 Your friends constantly ask you to get this spirit out of their house. 💀 You are comfortable with your own mortality. 💀 You know how to exorcise someone. 💀 You’re into historical and cultural burial/mourning practices. 💀 Samhain is YOUR day of the year.
💀Thantos, Hades, Anubis, Osiris, Persephone, Nyx, Hypnos and Hecate might be a part of your practice on the regular.
Update
I might be moving all this to a new blog. The messaging is wack for some reason on this one and I want to reorganize. I'll let you guys know what's up

Honestly shout out to the gods that deal with my bullshit
I don’t understand why people find the divide between personal mystic gnosis and historical lore difficult to navigate. You can worship however you like (within reason) just don’t claim you are part of a historic tradition that does not exist.
It’s disrespectful to force your beliefs on the dead to legitimise your practice
Astral Travel Tips
I personally do a lot of my astral traveling while I sleep. I would do it during the day if I had time, but honestly… I am a store manager that typically sees 50 hours of work time. By the time I get home I have to do some chore or I just want to rest. So doing all my astral work is done while my body recuperates.
Here are a few tips that have helped me:
Be okay with not remembering everything you do at night. I don’t remember everything. I do A LOT at night. To remember everything would take time I do not have. If I have the energy I will lay in my bed trying to recall the details of the night before. But its okay if you don’t remember everything or anything at first.
On that note, I have learned that if I lay in bed I can remember what I have done better. Its how I can remember dreams. I know though I can’t always do this because of my work schedule. Try different methods to which will help you recall the best.
In the beginning its nice to have a guide. I worked a lot with a couple beings I know who helped guide me. They would make it easier for me to move to the astral, as well as understand its mechanics. If you have done it before while awake then while sleeping shouldn’t be a huge step. Just ask help from someone you trust.
Pay attention to your dreams. I have learned the difference between dreams of mine. Some of them hint at things I have done on the astral. Though these dreams may not be a literal translation. Sometimes my mind will try to make sense of the astral world by converting things into something in my mundane-waking life. I typically keep a dream log for this. Its something where if I have time I jot down notes of my dreams. (You can learn to Lucid Dream if you want, but its not necessary. I sometimes Lucid Dream but not all the time. I just learn the differences between how my dreams feel to understand if it had something to do with the astral)
Everyone experiences the astral differently. Keep your mind open and let it interpret itself in the manner that is best for you. Like I am very claircognizant. I just know most of the time that something happened. That I knew someone/thing said such and such. There are few times that I actually hear it. There are times that trips the night before will play out like memories. It varies and I am okay with that. I just know what works for me.
I have a dream/astral travel pouch under my pillow. Its of items that have meaning to me to help pull me into recalling my time in the astral. You can also make one to help with making it there. (if you would like me to post the bag I use then let me know.)
Get on a regular sleeping schedule. A regular sleeping schedule helps your body get used to when its going to the astral. Plus self care helps a lot when you start doing astral work.
In the beginning don’t try doing astral work every night. It can make you more tired than before you fell asleep. Its easier to start slow and work your way up. I know that when my mundane life gets crazy I have to back off on the astral work. I crashed and burned in February because not only was I working 50-60 hour weeks in my waking life, I was also doing an insane amount of work on the astral during holidays through January. Its important to have down time from even astral travel!
These are some of the things that has helped me out a lot when beginning my astral traveling at night. This is not everything you can do. There are so many tricks out there and its about finding what works for you. But hopefully this can help anyone out. C:

Modern Pagan Ways to Worship
I’ve been thinking a lot about the ways I worship the gods, and watching my other Pagan friends to see how different our styles are. I thought I might list some of the ways I’ve noticed. Feel free to add anything you think is worth mentioning!
Learning about the gods: This is always the first thing I tell people to do when they decide to work with a new god. Read the stories we do have about them, even if there’s only one. What are scholars saying about the story/ies? What can we learn from knowing about the culture of the time? Is there any crossover from other cultures and mythologies?
Prayer: The obvious one, but perhaps not one that all Pagans engage in for fear of feeling ‘too Christian.’ Ceiswir Serith has a great guide, “A Book of Pagan Prayer,” if you want to take a look at new ways to pray.
Offering food/drink: Whether you’re offering a separate meal to the goddesses or sharing a part of your plate, this is a very old tradition. Some gods prefer you partake of the meal, and others don’t. Whatever is best for you, offering a glass of wine or a portion of your lunch to the gods also makes you more conscious of the food you’re ingesting.
Building/maintaining an altar: Another very common one under the Pagan umbrella. We dedicate a space to a deity or deities, and decorate it as a workspace for spells, a welcome mat for the god(s)/ess(es) we worship.
Donning a deities’ associations: If yours is a sea goddess, it is likely she’ll prefer you wearing shells, pearls, or colors that remind her of her home. By contrast, a fire god might like to see you sporting some carnelian or even lava rock. Wearing their colors, crystals/stones, scents, animal representations, symbols (either overt or covert), etc., is a way to remind yourself of them throughout the day.
Writing: Some Pagans keep journals, a Book of Shadows, and blogs to write to and about the gods. If you’re a verbal learner, this can be a great way to figure out your feelings if you’re working through new concepts, or to tell stories about your deities if they like to hear you talk about them.
Art: Other Pagans like to draw, paint, or otherwise decorate parts of their world with a visual representation of their god(s)/ess(es), their associations, or experiences they’ve had with their deity.
Music: Writing a chant, alternative Christmas carol lyrics, or compositions can be a great way to worship! Don’t forget drum circles and jam sessions.
Meditation: One of my personal favorites, guiding yourself (or having them guide you) through a visual meditation to show them more of their world. You can learn a lot about a god this way.
Crafty hobbies: Making jewelery, fetishes, or other gifts for the gods can be a relaxing and informative way to learn about how you see your goddesses compared to how other people do.
Volunteer work: Many goddesses and gods require their followers to flow good energy back into the world, whether that’s by volunteering at a women’s shelter, running a recycling campaign in your neighborhood, or counselling LGBTQ+ youth, this is a rewarding way to prove you can put your money where your mouth is, spiritually speaking.
Academic work: Particularly for knowledge/wisdom deities, this can be a good one for students. Silently dedicating your homework assignments to your gods can boost the quality of the work you turn in–it’s going to someone a little higher than your professor, after all!
Designing sigils and symbols: A lot of people are starting to take up the sigil-making hobby, which is great! Making a unique symbol for your deities lets them know you’re thinking of them, without necessarily letting other people know. Particularly good for people in non-Pagan-friendly households.
