An orphan, a loner, and a fake wedding
-------------------------
Synopsis:
The orphan is there, standing on one corner of her dilapidated room, wearing a worn out blanket as a veil, a cheap white dress as a gown, and flowers from a poor soil for a bouquet. Not that this made her less beautiful in front of the loner's eyes, waiting anxiously on the other corner of the room.
She couldn't give him the fairytale wedding he wanted, but she hopes, that as fake as this one is, it can suffice for now.

She was tired, lying on her small, creaky bed, after yet another day of working hard and forced to fight off attackers, her body marred with bruises and mind utterly drained, sleep should have taken her right there, but in its place, her mind started to drift to random topics, before it finally decided to land on a particularly sensitive one, her bad luck as always acting out.
"Wedding, children, a happy family, a fairytale ending..."
She grew up reading about those things, fantasizing about her life being like those fairytales, but sooner than later discovered she could never get them.
She was an orphan, doomed from the moment she was dumped in that place, she should have learned there she was disposable as they come, no one to mourn her if she were to dissapear, but those cheap books Bailey kept around gave her hope at the time. Hope that is all but shattered now.
Work, fight, work, fight, that's pretty much what her life was now, a life she doesn't think will ever end, paying that endless debt. Protecting the ones that depend on her. Her body marred with bruises at the end of each day. She should be thankful she has managed to pay it all without whoring herself out, should be thankful that she's strong enough to fight off her attackers, she knows there's just so many orphans who don't have the same luck as her. But she felt she was on the verge of going crazy, so ungrateful she is. She can't control it, but the fact doesn't make her feel any less gross. How is it that she hasn't broken yet?
Actually, now that she thinks about it, Kylar.
Well, no, he was the reason, she knew it, he was broken, she knows that, she has experienced it first hand, he was dangerous, she knew that, he was utterly batshit crazy, of course she knew.
But that doesn't make her love him any less, nor lowers her emotional dependence on him, he depends on her, and she depends on him, that she hasn't put a knife to his neck doesn't make her the less dependant, nor the less pathetic one. Her chance of ever having a chance at a happy future is null, but he sometimes manages to get her to hope for it, just a little, as broken as the two are.
"I-i've been thinking up names for our children" He said one time they were talking at the park, she'd lie if she said the words didn't take her by suprise, somehow, they shouldn't have, as he was always keen on the topic, but they did.
She couldn't help but let her mind drift away a little, imagining the scenario, it was...a little nice, in her mind, but she quickly snapped herself out of it, not that it could ever happen.
When she came to, she noticed her boyfriend was rambling and listing a long list of names she had never heard about before, they sounded...exotic, maybe they came from those asian things he liked, when he noticed her slightly confused gaze, he shut himself off with a mumble and a blush on his cheeks.
"We can get married in the forest, my parents can-" Another time, his words contrasting with the place they were in, a dirty alleyway, walls full of graffiti and she'd swear she saw a rat get out of a manhole, both of them panting harshly, but what he said was sweet, locking his sweaty hand to hers as he did so, kissing her tenderly, if a bit shyly. It was a dirty alleyway, and what they had just done was also naughty in itself, but her chest felt warm and nice, was she dirty for enjoying this? She wondered. Was she stupid for letting herself fantasize about his words? Yeah, probably, she told to herself.
The feeling ended when Kylar suddenly checked on his watch and hurriedly retreated, apologetic all the while.
He always talks about marriage, having a family, and as much as she knows she'll never be able to give it to him as he wants, an idea crosses her mind, to satiate at least a little of his desires, she thinks he deserves it for helping her in not breaking completely at this point.
The next day, she visits him at the park, he looks up at her, smiling and blushing a little, his expression turning into a questioning one as he noticed hers was dead serious.
"Kylar" She puts her mouth to his ear, quietly murmuring the idea that had ocurred to her last night, when she pulled away, her expression remained serious, but he could notice it was also a little embarassed.
He looked as if he was having a hard time even processing it, his confused murmur the last thing he said before seemingly freezing for some seconds.
Was her idea really so silly? She felt blood rush to her cheeks.
"F-forget i-" She couldn't finish her sentence before feeling two small hands grabbing her shoulders, with a force that bordered in painful, it would have been surprising but she knew first hand he could have shocking force sometimes.
"P-please! I'd l-l-love t-to!"
She felt relieved at his words, when she saw his face, she noticed he was all red and nervous, more than usual, she couldn't help smiling a little at the sight.
He seemed to try to make himself look formal, as much as he could, his hair was slightly more brushed than normal, and his clothes were also more formal than the usual ones he wore, it reminded her a little of how he looked at the stageplay months ago.
She's snapped out of her thoughts once again by a nervous "M-my love?" Coming from the other corner of the room, she gulps a little as she starts walking to his side with as much grace as she can.
She wonders if she looks silly right now, being fair, her "groom" doesn't look precisely graceful either, she thinks it's cute. When she finally gets to his side, she hears Kylar starting to recite wedding vows, that wasn't part of what she mentioned, did he learnt them only for this? She can't supress a giggle at the though, making him stutter and blush even harder somehow.
"M-may the groom k-kiss the bride?"
He's blushing intently, staring at her with shy, needy eyes, she wonders if she looks the same, when her voice comes, it definitely doesn't help her suspicions.
Kylar inmediately launched himself on top of her, making her let out an embarassing sound, she felt how his small, trembling hand slipped beneath her cheap dress, and the other caressed her cheek, wiping a tear, the orphan hadn't noticed she was sobbing.
She couldn't give him the fairytale wedding he wanted, but she hopes, that as fake as this one is, it can suffice for now.
And if she's honest, this is half an excuse to fulfill her own wish.
